MCU fans just got a brand-new look at Avengers: Doomsday at Disney’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event, releasing a new trailer that has since been released online. Featuring Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, the new trailer features some very exciting reveals about the Latverian ruler’s motivations and clashes with the assembled heroes from various realities.
Featuring more than a few key reveals like Doctor Doom’s connection with The Fantastic Four, his tragic origins, and on-screen powers in the MCU, there’s a good amount to be explored and speculate on as we get closer and closer to one of the biggest MCU crossovers yet. Additionally, the trailer features new looks at the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, X-Men, and Fantastic Four, who will all be featured in Avengers: Doomsday (not to mention the returns of Thor, Loki, and Steve Rogers).
Promising some major collisions of worlds and heroes in the upcoming crossover, here are the seven biggest reveals and most exciting moments from D23’s brand-new Avengers: Doomsday trailer.

Biggest Moments and Reveals From D23’s New Avengers: Doomsday Trailer
Doom’s Throne & Powerful Magic — At the very beginning of D23’s new Avengers: Doomsday trailer, we see Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom sitting upon an ominous throne, which is likely in Castle Doomstadt in Latveria. Even more interestingly, we also see the floor in front of Doctor Doom glowing with green mystical energy, proving Doom’s comic-accurate mastery of magic, which goes hand in hand with his command of science. Likewise, the green energy is shown following key lines etched into the ground in what looks to be a large glyph.
The Fantastic Four’s History With Doctor Doom — The beginning of the trailer also sees Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm sharing with other MCU heroes that Victor von Doom was “the smartest guy in every room” and that he used to be very different. Later, we see Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards aggressively confronting Doom and calling him by his first name. As such, both instances in the new Doomsday footage confirm a prior history and perhaps even rivalry between Doom and The Fantastic Four, suggesting that Victor also hails from Earth-828 (making his abduction of Reed’s and Sue’s son Franklin Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits even worse).
Exciting New Hero Looks (Avengers/X-Men/Fantastic Four) — Compared to the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, the new D23 footage features several new shots of classic heroes who will be featured in the movie, including Magneto, Gambit, Shang-Chi, Cyclops, Ant-Man, Human Torch, and plenty more of the full confirmed Doomsday cast.
Doctor Doom’s Great Loss — Sue Storm’s opening dialogue also confirms that the Victor von Doom once known by The Fantastic Four was kind and caring. However, everything apparently changed for Doom “when everything he loved was taken from him.” Shown looking at a tapestry featuring a woman and child, the implication is that Victor lost his family, a blow that seemingly led to his current multiversal conquest in Avengers: Doomsday: “I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.”

A World Ravaged (By An Incursion?) — One of the most telling shots in the new Avengers: Doomsday special look trailer is of a city destroyed and ravaged, a true apocalyptic wasteland. Keeping that in mind, it looks an awful lot like the broken world inhabited by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and its more sinister Doctor Strange, a world that succumbed to the onset of a major multiversal incursion. Keeping that in mind, perhaps Doctor Doom’s clash with Marvel’s heroes will take place on the remains of a devastated world post-incursion.
“Living Stolen Lives” — We then see various shots of classic Marvel heroes with their loved ones. This includes Scott Lang’s Ant-Man with Cassie, Thor with his adopted daughter Love, Johnny Storm with his nephew, Steve Rogers with his infant son, Sir Ian McKellan’s Magneto with Sir Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, and more.
Meanwhile, Doom himself claims that they’ve all lived “stolen lives” and that they must now give them back. Keeping that in mind, it does support the theory that the events of Avengers: Endgame might have led to major damage to the multiverse at large, damage that Doctor Doom himself is perhaps now trying to correct.
Doctor Doom & Sentinels — Last but not least, MCU fans get to see more of Doctor Doom easily warding off Thor despite the God of Thunder wielding Stormbreaker. Doctor Doom then provides one of the coldest MCU villain lines ever: “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom…” Victor von Doom is then shown using his magic to raise an army of nearby fallen Sentinels, the classic mutant-killing robots. As such, it does seem likely that this major battle will be happening at the remains of the Xavier Mansion.
