Game of Thrones fans have been having a wild ride with the current season of House of the Dragon, with several significant diversions from George R.R. Martin’s source material in Fire & Blood that have been quite controversial. Fortunately, thanks to a brand-new reveal for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, fans can get up close and personal with Vermithor, The Bronze Fury, a new “Legendary Champion who protects struggling allies while steadily punishing enemy aggression through a mix of Physical and Tactical damage.” Vermithor is one of several unique dragons introduced to the free-to-play 4X strategy game from WB Games Boston, available now for iOS and Android.
The new Vermithor Legendary “excels at absorbing pressure for his team, and reducing the offensive output of enemy Warrior and Hunter threats. As battle continues, Vermithor becomes harder to break through, using layered damage reduction to anchor the fight from the front.”
Vermithor can only be unlocked by playing the Shadow of the Greens campaign, one of the three main campaigns available now in Dragonfire. His five unique Habits include the following:
- Noble Sacrifice: At the start of the battle, Vermithor willingly takes on increased Tactical Damage while weakening the Physical output of an enemy Warrior and the Fire damage of an enemy Hunter, helping reduce incoming pressure on his team.
- Nimble Resilience (Shared): As combat begins, Vermithor gains lasting damage reduction and an Initiative boost, allowing him to act more efficiently while withstanding attacks throughout the fight.
- Bronze Bulwark: This Habit enhances Vermithor’s Bronze Fury Command by increasing its damage, making Protect more reliable, and granting Vermithor extra Physical and Fire resistance whenever he shields an ally.
- Fury’s Poise: Vermithor becomes tougher depending on the enemy lineup, gaining additional Physical resistance against Warriors and Fire resistance against Hunters for the duration of the battle.
- Vengeful Fury: If Vermithor falls below half of his maximum troop capacity, he retaliates once per battle by striking the enemies with the lowest Instincts and Intelligence using both Physical and Tactical attacks.
