President Donald Trump said Monday that he hasn’t yet decided whether he will sign into law a bipartisan housing bill, calling it a “big yawn” in comparison to the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote.
“It hasn’t been sent to me yet. It’s coming, I understand, and then I’ll make a de — Here’s what I would like to say,” Trump said. “It’s a yawn. Some people say it’s wonderful. To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn.”
Speaker Mike Johnson sent the legislation, which among other things would ban institutional investors from purchasing single family homes, on Monday to Trump for his signature. The legislation’s transmission follows days of uncertainty after Trump abruptly canceled a Capitol Hill signing ceremony last week, instead demanding that Congress move the unrelated SAVE America Act, the party’s stalled election security bill.
