It was back in 2022 that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet marked the first installments in Pokémon’s ninth generation. Whilst the game initially received mixed reviews from critics due to its technical problems at launch, it has later been reconsidered by players, especially thanks to the heaps of post-game content that have been added over the past few years.
Not only that, but Pokémon Scarlet & Violet also introduced a brand-new feature that was received well by players: the Terastal phenomenon. Allowing a Pokémon to transform into its exclusive “Tera Type”, changing its normal Type so that it now harnesses new weaknesses, strengths, and attack power.
With 18 different Tera Types, the brand-new feature was a breath of fresh air to fans who had been complaining that recent Pokémon entries stuck to the same tried and tested formula. Additionally, since the launch of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Nintendo has been making use of the Terastal phenomenon by adding multiple events to the post-game content.
This includes Tera Raids, a timed four-player cooperative boss battle which will task players with facing a wild, crystallized Pokémon with a specific Tera type. Completing the event comes alongside some epic loot, so it is no wonder that players are still flocking back to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet to this day.
This August, a brand-new Tera Raid Battle and Mass Outbreak event is now live with a focus on none other than Annihilape and its pre-evolutions. Available to battle from August 14 through August 20, 2026, at 23:59 UTC, a Ghost Tera Type Annihilape with the Mightiest Mark is appearing in 7-star Tera Raid Battles with the level 100 ‘mon boasting the Defiant Ability.
Although the Tera Raid can be approached multiple times, the Ghost Tera Type Annihilape can only be caught once per save file, so make with this information what you will. However, beating them will reward you with Ghost Tera Shards, Exp. Candy, Protein, and an Ability Patch, and more.
On top of that, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is also hosting the Mass Outbreak event, which could see players hunt for marked Mankey, Primeape, and Annihilape across Kitakami. However, these Pokémon have an increased chance of appearing with the Angry Mark, so be prepared for a fight.
Last but not least, make sure that you have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News and have the latest update data installed to participate in the brand-new Pokémon Scarlet & Violet event.
