Black Myth: Wukong – All Loong Boss Locations

With so many bosses in Black Myth: Wukong, it’s easy for them all to blend together. The secret Loong bosses, however, are a group of Yaoguai Kings you won’t want to forget about. By defeating the Red, Black, Cyan, and Yellow Loong bosses, you can unlock the Golden Loong Staff, an excellent staff in Black Myth: Wukong.

Some of these fights prove to be among the most challenging in the entire game, so this isn’t an undertaking to embark upon lightly. Most players will be able to handle at least a Loong or two, but the final challenge — the Yellow Loong — is uniquely formidable. Even if you don’t complete them all, however, there are some nice rewards to receive along the way.

How To Get The Loong Scales

Before you can start attacking the Loongs, you’ll need the Loong Scales, a special item obtained in Chapter 2. First, you’ll need to play through part of Chapter 2 and reach the First Prince of the Flowing Sands fight.

While Kang-Jin Loong and Chen Loong are technically Loongs, they do not contribute to obtaining the Golden Loong Staff and are therefore not included in this list.

If you leave the King of Flowing Sands alive early in Chapter 2, he’ll kick off the First Prince of the Flowing Sands fight of his own accord. Otherwise, when you reach a cavern arena with a curved red wall, you’ll need to summon him with the Pungent Flesh Chunk.

In the fight, make sure to get the First Prince to hit the wall with a slam attack to break it. Alternatively, you can break the wall with the Wandering Wight Spirit. In the area beyond the wall, you’ll find the Loong Scales in the chest. Once you have these, you can backtrack and begin your dragon hunt.

Where To Find Red Loong & Get Rewards

Red Loong in Black Myth: Wukong is actually found within a Chapter 1 area, but it can’t be accessed while playing through that chapter. Once you’ve dealt with acquiring the Loong Scales in Chapter 2, however, you can get to work on the first Loong fight.

First, teleport to the Outside The Forest Shrine in the Forest of Wolves, then head northwest of the shrine until you arrive at a waterfall with a Buddha statue.

Now that you have the Loong Scales, you’ll be able to examine the waterfall and reveal a new path. As soon as you pass through the waterfall, you’ll arrive at Red Loong’s arena and begin the boss battle.

Where To Find Black Loong & Get Rewards

Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong features Black Loong, a pudgy, dark-green Yaoguai King. If you want to fight this secret boss, you’ll need to travel to the Rockrest Flat Keeper Shrine in Fright Cliff. Head right of the shrine until you encounter a sand waterfall. Use the Loong Scales to pass through and fight Black Loong.

As an optional boss, you may want to consider finishing Chapter 2 before fighting Black Loong, as this will give you an edge over this second Loong boss.

Cyan Loong Boss Location

Where To Find Cyan Loong & Get Rewards

Cyan Loong is part of Chapter 3 and can be found after the boss battle with Kang-Jin Star. During this boss battle, you’ll unlock the Turtle Island Keeper’s Shrine, which is the best starting point for your path to Cyan Loong. Here, you should encounter some dialogue that draws you toward the fight. Head right from the shrine toward a dead tree where Cyan Loong stands as a statue.

If you have the Loong Scales, Cyan Loong will resurrect and the boss battle will begin. Cyan Loong drops an essential crafting material for the Golden Loong Staff, alongside a new soak in Black Myth: Wukong.

Yellow Loong Boss Location

Where To Find Yellow Loong & Get New Staffs

Once you’ve defeated the Red, Black, and Cyan Loongs, you can fight Yellow Loong in Black Myth: Wukong. While you can fight the other three Yaoguai Kings in any order, you cannot encounter Yellow Loong until the previous Loongs have been defeated. This is ultimately a kindness, as the challenge of the Yellow Loong far surpasses the others.

Yellow Loong can be found in Chapter 4 of Black Myth: Wukong. As you explore Webbed Hollow’s Relief, you’ll eventually find a cave with the Relief of the Fallen Loong Shrine, shortly after a boss battle with the Buddha’s Right Hand. Travel across a couple of rope bridges to a shrine, and Yellow Loong awaits just beyond.

In this case, you may want to consult a guide on how to defeat the Yellow Loong before proceeding. Before starting the fight, you’ll definitely want to prepare for shock attacks, as the Yellow Loong makes heavy use of them in the fight.

With all four Loong bosses defeated, you’ll be able to obtain the Golden Loong Staff. The staff’s recipe costs the Sea-Supporting Tendon, the Mountain-Shaking Claw, 2 Kun Steel, and 45000 Will. With this staff, the damage of your Pillar Stance moves is increased. The staff also summons a Loong to strike at your enemies.

Once you’ve defeated Yellow Loong, you should have five Loong Pearls in your possession (with one from Kang-Jin Star in Chapter 3). These Loong Pearls cannot be used in your first playthrough. Rather, when you start New Game +, you can use them to craft the Stormflash Loong Staff, a powerful and unique staff for your next journey through Black Myth: Wukong.
