The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) may finally be ready to leave the business world behind and get back to doing what he truly loves.
The show’s been hinting about Nate’s return to medicine, so they may make it official soon.
Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) has certainly been working hard to convince Nate that he belongs back at the hospital.
Nate keeps trying to act like he’s content to work with his family at Winters, but he’d be happier if he was still healing patients.
Stephanie even offered up a phone number for an orthopedic surgeon who should be able to fix Nate’s hand.
Since there have been a lot of advancements in recent years, Nate could make a full recovery and resume doing operations.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will advise Nate about his medical career in Y&R’s August 12 episode, so she may give him a nudge to surrender to what he really wants.
This may be what motivates Nate to quit the corporate grind at last and head back down a path that leads him to Genoa City Memorial Hospital.
Once Nate’s hand is repaired and he’s able to perform surgeries again, he’ll eventually have his first patient back on the job.
It’s a mystery who that patient will be, but Christian Newman (last played by Alex Wilson) might be an option now that he’s of driving age.
If a teenage Christian recast is on the way, he might get rushed to the hospital following an accident and need Nate to save his life.
On the other hand, maybe Nate could have a different patient who lands on the operating table instead.
Anyone on canvas could face an unexpected medical crisis and perhaps need Nate to work his surgeon magic down the road.
Whatever the case, Nate’s corporate career has been a flop and never gives him any good material.
Let’s hope that’ll change with Nate’s return to medicine, his first mystery patient back at work and any other significant hospital drama.
