Meghan Markle Hits Back At Martha Stewart’s Claim About UK Trip

Meghan Markle insiders are firing back at a claim made by celebrity chef Martha Stewart related to her and her husband, Prince Harry, visiting the UK.

Stewart alleged in a new interview that she and the Duchess of Sussex were both at a gathering where she heard her talking about her Highgrove reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

A source close to Meghan Markle has, however, shut down the claims, noting that Martha Stewart must have been “confused.”

Meghan is hitting back at lifestyle guru Martha Stewart’s recent claim that she gossiped about her royal reunion in July.

The duchess and her husband, Harry, along with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at their Highgrove residence. It marked the first time in four years that the Sussexes had been in the UK as a family.

Buckingham Palace officially confirmed the reunion in a statement, stressing that it was a “private” family meeting and that no more information would be disclosed about it.

Due to how secretive and private the reunion was, it came as a surprise when Stewart shared in an interview that Meghan was sharing info about her meeting with the monarch at a dinner party.

The popular chef told People Magazine, “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”

A Sussex insider has since shut down the claims made by Stewart, noting that Meghan never talked about her meeting with the UK and only responded to a question about her “vacation” in Europe.

“Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice, and that was the extent of it. I think she must have been confused,” the insider told The Mirror.

The source, however, stressed that Meghan is still a”fan” of Stewart despite her interview comments.

Another insider told People that Stewart’s remarks are “untrue” and that Meghan barely even spoke about the European trip.

“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” the source stated. “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”

They added, “Meghan has always been a fan of Martha’s and enjoyed getting to meet her briefly at the dinner.”

During her interview with People, Stewart also commented on Meghan’s lifestyle pivot, particularly her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.”

Since the launch of the duchess’s lifestyle business, As Ever, and the subsequent TV series, fans have made comparisons between her and Stewart.

While speaking to the publication, she was asked to share her thoughts on Meghan “stepping into her space” with her own cooking show, and Stewart gave a somewhat shady response.

She said, “If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”

Harry and Meghan faced a string of surprising complications during their visit to the UK. Beyond security concerns, confusion erupted over an invitation from the king to host the family at a royal residence, an offer that was ultimately revoked before their arrival.

Commenting on the trip, author Christopher Andersen suggested that the duchess’s meeting with the monarch and Queen Camilla was not very “warm.”

“One gets the sense that, from Meghan’s perspective, the reunion with Charles and Camilla wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” Andersen told Page Six.

He noted that she has fully embraced her peaceful environment in California. Furthermore, she reportedly dislikes any narrative suggesting that bringing her children to visit their British relatives means she wants to step back into the royal spotlight.

As Andersen explained, “It’s fairly clear that Markle feels more secure in [her home] in Montecito, and doesn’t want to give the impression that she will be any part of a return to royal life.”

Following the family’s brief trip to the UK, insiders noted that the escalating public drama likely caused considerable distress for Meghan.

The primary source of friction stemmed from the fact that their private disputes over security protocols were exposed to the public.

According to a People report, those close to the situation admitted that “there’s a lot of sadness” about the chaotic outcome of the visit.

Despite the high-stress environment, Meghan continues to show unwavering solidarity with her husband. Sources state that she intentionally defers to Harry and “always lets him lead” when it comes to steering his family relationships.
