Embattled Republican Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) said on Tuesday that he will “file my own paperwork” to open a House Ethics investigation into himself amid allegations from his ex-wife that he abused her and their young child.

Miller’s ex-wife, Emily Moreno, revealed in divorce proceedings accusations that Miller scalded her with hot water, held a gun to her head, and broke their child’s collarbone – amid various other instances of physical and emotional abuse. Miller vehemently denies the claims and has sued Moreno, the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), for defamation.

“In light of all the renewed interest in my family affairs I am going to file my own paperwork for an ethics investigation into myself to clear my name from these horrific attacks on myself and family. I have absolutely nothing to hide,” Miller wrote on social media Tuesday, adding:

We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detailed examination. The accusations continue to change, but my facts stay the same. I am looking forward to my colleagues reading everything for themselves.

CBS News reported on Tuesday that “some White House officials hope embattled GOP Rep. Max Miller exits the congressional race in Ohio immediately, and President Trump has expressed a similar sentiment behind closed doors.”

Trump called Miller on Monday night and reportedly told him he was very concerned about the allegations against him. Miller, who served as an aide in Trump’s first administration, told Trump he did not plan to exit the race, which he has to do by Wednesday at 4 pm for Republicans to replace him on the ballot.

Miller has also launched attacks on Sen. Moreno, further engulfing the Ohio GOP in scandal. “If my daughter said the same thing to me, I personally wouldn’t wait two years before holding him accountable. You know this isn’t true and the only reason you are speaking out now is to hide from your own media circus. This is all political,” Miller wrote, appearing to reference some of Moreno’s own past scandals.
