In a year like 2026, which has seen more celebrity weddings than ever before, it’s now Emma Roberts’s turn. The actress, who rose to fame on the series American Horror Story, married fellow actor Cody John at a private residence in Idaho.
An intimate ceremony with friends and family: this was the newlyweds’ choice to celebrate the culmination of their relationship, which began in 2022. Very few, therefore, were lucky enough to see in person the stunning white Monique Lhuillier gown worn by Roberts.
“I didn’t really know what I wanted,” the actress tells Vogue, though she had a clear starting point: “I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”
To bring such a unique and unusual request to life, yards and yards of silk chiffon were used to give the dress an “ethereal, romantic, and vintage-inspired” effect, in a custom shade the designer described as “antique rose.”
The fabric was then draped over an elaborate boned corset—the boning slightly visible through the chiffon—paired with a layered skirt complete with a long train and a slit, designed to add movement to the gown. Rounding out the look: a removable asymmetrical shawl (which Roberts was able to take off after the ceremony for a strapless look), a floor-length veil in matching silk tulle, and a delicate lace veil covering the bride’s eyes.
