Oop! Nicki Minaj is reacting after President Donald Trump made a joke about her “twerking” during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting a few months ago.
On April 25, Trump attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) taking place inside Washington, D.C.’s Hilton Hotel. This is the same hotel where former President Ronald Reagan faced his own assassination attempt on March 30, 1981.
During the dinner — which marked the first time Trump has ever attended as president — a man breached the security checkpoint in the hotel lobby. Authorities identified the man as 31-year-old California resident Cole Allen. He is facing four federal felony counts.
The charges include: Attempt to Assassinate the President of the United States; Assault on a federal officer with a deadly weapon; Discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence; and Transportation of a firearm and ammunition over state lines with intent to commit a felony.

Rapper Nicki Minaj — who has been closely aligning herself with the Trump administration — was invited to the dinner, reportedly by Fox News. However, reports claimed she was running late and never made it before the shooting. She ended up reacting to the news, sharing a video of her inside a car. She captioned the post with an American flag emoji and prayer hands.”
While officials eventually rescheduled the WHCD to last night (Friday, July 24), Minaj again did not attend. Despite her absence from both events, Trump claimed she was present during the first WHCD and joked about her doing something odd during the shooting.
While taking the podium to roost Hollywood and the media, Trump joked, “After hearing the gunshots, many people yelled, ‘Get down!’ which caused Nicki Minaj to start twerking. Can you believe it? She’s the only one that really understood what that meant.” The rapper ended up reacting to his comments and said she’s going to give him a look when she sees him next. She shared an AI-image of Chucky doll with pink hair, instead of orange. She captioned the post, How I’ll be looking @ the President next time I see him.”
