HOWARD Stern fans are predicting that one of his SiriusXM channels are done after telling clues after the show’s shocking layoffs.

At least a dozen Howard Stern Show staffers were let go in a brutal layoff earlier this month, after they were informed in a Zoom call that their marquee talent would be doing just one new show a week when he’s back from his long summer vacation post-Labor Day.

Stern‘s show provides content on two SiriusXM channels, with Howard 100 earmarked for brand-new live broadcasts, and Howard 101 dedicated to old content like the Sternthology archival clips, concert specials, and historical tape.

Fans are wondering, with just one new show a week, whats the point of SiriusXM keeping both channels going.

A response from another quickly followed, “How do you have two channels and all that happens is 100 plays an old segment first and like 2 hours later 101 plays the same segment,” they said before they added, “Beyond lazy.”

The responding fan said they expect SiriusXM to have some sort of answer to this dilemma in the fall when Stern returns to his new, massively reduced, live show schedule.

Meanwhile, another fan said “I cancelled my subscription today.

“I know they have a lot of archive content that is interesting, but they could present it better.

“I guess now Howard 100 and Howard 101 are the same thing. A new show once a week? Really?,” the disappointed listener added.

And yet another frustrated “No one over there cares, that’s the issue. Sirius is afraid of losing Howard and Howard is afraid of really retiring and not collecting a paycheck.

“So they do this dance where he now is going to do 30 or so live shows a year but they keep branding 100 and 101 to look like Howard is still here (we won’t tell you what’s live) and please stick with us,” the frustrated fan wrote.

They added, “They know a lot of people are not aware enough to know there are 330 days off – or that the 101 channel is simply replaying the same 75 vanilla Howard history clips over and over.”

Stern listeners have been cancelling their subscriptions, seemingly en masse, since news broke the shock jock would be doing just one show a week.

In turn, a dozen employees were laid off and issued a painfully small severance, insiders exclusively told The U.S. Sun.

It was revealed last week that the format is getting a major overhaul, along with a smaller staff, after brutal layoffs hit the show.

Instead of its usual schedule of multiple weekly broadcasts, the show will air just one three-hour episode a week, with 73-year-old Stern at the helm.

Stern and his longtime co-host Robin Quivers, also 73, originally launched The Howard Stern Show back in March 1981.

They started out doing five live shows a week on terrestrial radio before making the leap to Sirius Satellite Radio in January 2006 under a massive $500 million deal.

During those early years on SiriusXM, they scaled back to four live episodes a week, running Monday through Thursday.

Over time, that shifted to three live shows a week, Monday through Wednesday, with reruns filling in during holidays and vacations.

The show is on its usual summer break right now, and when live episodes return in September, they will follow the new, majorly reduced schedule.

All of this follows Stern signing a three-year contract extension to keep his SiriusXM residency going through 2028.

The show just went through a major downsizing that saw several on-air personalities, including some who had been there for over two decades, lose their jobs.

Sources say those who were let go had no warning, leaving the remaining staff walking on eggshells.
