According to a police report obtained by TMZ, the 63-year-old driver was seen traveling “at a high rate of speed up the driveway” before plowing through the gates. Authorities noted that the driver failed to hit the brakes as he approached the mechanical entrance, resulting in “significant damage.” After his car was impounded, the man was arrested and transported to Stony Brook Hospital to be treated for pain.
Detective/Sergeant Jennifer Dunn, one of the responding officers, told Page Six that the man appeared “confused,” adding, “He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.”
She also noted he had previously stopped at another home nearby, apparently searching for a woman who didn’t live there. The driver is now facing serious legal trouble, including charges of felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
