HOWARD Stern has fired at least four beloved stars after years of loyalty on his radio show, The U.S. Sun can exclusively report.
Stern Show staffers at New York City’s SiriusXM studios have been “walking on eggshells” since the layoffs earlier this week, sources said.
Producers as well as on-air talent got the heave-ho, as Stern prepares to drop to just one new show a week from the three days he promised fans when he announced his three-year contract renewal in December.
One insider said, “They let go of Benjy Bronk, who had been a huge figure on the show.
“The guy worked there for over 25 years and was both on air and behind the scenes.
“He’s one of the most talented guys there.”
According to his IMDB profile, Benjy joined the show in 1998, and took over as head writer when Jackie “The Jokeman” Martling quit in 2001.
The insider added that on-air talent Jon Blitt was also let go.
A second source claimed that other fan-favorites Memet Walker and Mike Trainor were also laid off.
The second insider grumbled that Stern should have let the whole dedicated staff ride with him through the end of his contract.

“Howard can be ruthless like that,” the insider added.
Staff were informed that their marquee talent was taking his show down from just three days a week to only one after Labor Day in a brutal Zoom call on Monday.
The U.S. Sun reached out to reps at SiriusXM for comment, as well as Benjy, Jon and Memet.
Meanwhile, Mike Trainor seems to be the only one to thus far confirm the news himself.
Mike posted to X: “Hey now. My run on The Howard Stern Show ended this week after 12 amazing years (an eternity!).
“Incredibly grateful to Howard and the whole gang for the ride and excited for what’s next.
“If you know me, like me, or are even vaguely aware of me and don’t hate me and you’re working on something cool, hit me up.”
Page Six was the first to report news of the layoffs.
The shock jock announced in December 2025, that he had signed with Sirius again just weeks before his contract was set to expire, and told listeners he wasn’t even sure he was definitely renewing as recently as that week.
During the announcement, he said the new contract would give him “More free time, and continue to be on the radio.”
Just weeks after starting his new schedule in 2026, which was supposed to have fresh episodes Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 7 a.m. ET to 10 a.m. ET, Stern missed two of the three slated shows in January.
When Stern was a no-show on February 2, fans said the writing was on the wall with layoffs surely to come down the pipeline soon.
A critical Reddit user joked, “He needs a rest, he worked two days last week.”
“How can Sirius justify paying for this mess along with the 90 people on staff,” questioned another fan.
Someone else speculated, “I’m sure they’re going to start cutting back the 90 staff. What do all those people get paid?”
As The U.S. Sun had first revealed, the Howard Stern Show is taking its last gasps.
Back in August 2025, sources said Howard and his management at Sirius were not expected to come to an agreement to renew his $100 million a year contract, and that the show was expected to be cancelled.
While the 72-year-old did, of course, re-sign with the streaming giant, his greatly pared-down schedule seems to suggest they weren’t shelling out the big bucks for Stern again.
