The start of the school summer holidays in Coventry and Warwickshire will continue to be warm and dry.
Tomorrow (July 17) will see many schools across our area close for the annual long holiday.
While the heatwave is set to subside, the most latest Met Office forecast for the first week of the summer break states ‘Temperatures trending a little nearer to average, but still feeling warm.

The update comes as yellow Health Security Agency (UKHSA) health alert remains in place across our area due to hot temperatures, which would reach 29C today.
The alert remains in place until 9pm tomorrow (Friday, July 17) but it will remain warm across the weekend and into the first week of the school summer break.
The full latest local forecast for our area for this week and into the start of next week is as follows:
Today
A rather cloudy start to the day, but blue skies returning through the morning as the cloud clears away. A hot afternoon to come, with light winds across the region and plenty of hazy sunshine. Maximum temperature 29C.
Tonight
Plenty of sunshine to end the day. Dry overnight, with increasing amounts of cloud cover once more, though southern and western areas holding on to some clearer skies. Minimum temperature 12C.
Friday
Morning cloud clearing to leave another dry and sunny day. The sunshine turning hazy at times in the afternoon. Temperatures a little lower in the north as winds turn northerly. Maximum temperature 28C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Staying dry into the weekend, with sunny spells by day and clear skies at night. Temperatures trending a little nearer to average, but still feeling warm.
