MASTERCHEF has dropped a new challenge twist in Season 16’s big return after WEEKS off the air.
The cooking reality show, which hit our screens in 2010, has not aired since early June due to the World Cup appearing on Fox.
But fans will be over the moon to know that the show is set to return to the broadcaster tonight (Wednesday 15th July).
In the sneak peek, Gordon Ramsay walks into the kitchen and says: “It’s great to be back” just before welcoming the contestants in.
He later says: “Trust me, the second half is where the global gauntlet really throws down.”
Viewers were then teased with what to expect.
The contestants will part in The Wall, Keeping Up With Gordon and the dreaded restaurant takeover.
And they will also have a go at their brand new challenge The Wheel of Fusion.
The chefs will push a wheel and it will land on a cuisine and have to then ‘fuse’ the cuisine with their own culture.
Joe Bastianich says: “Expect the competition to be at the highest level we have ever seen.”

Many rushed to the comments section, including Hulu, who commented: “Sat in advance.”
Fox TV’s account added: “Tomorrow I’ll be sat!”
And MasterChef On Fox chimed in: “We’re about to turn up the heat!”
The last episode of MasterChef was on Fox on June 3, ahead of the global soccer tournament, which kicked off on June 11.
MasterChef wasn’t the only FOX show being booted in favor of the World Cup coverage.
The game shows, The 1% Club and The Quiz With Balls have also paused after their June 8 broadcasts and won’t resume until July 13.
The World Cup runs for six weeks, with its final game scheduled for July 19.
The 15th season of the show aired last year.
