Sid Wilson changed his Instagram bio after being fired from Slipknot.

TMZ first broke the news of Wilson’s departure from the band on Friday, July 31. Per the outlet, although the heavy metal band had been preparing to announce the news themselves, the report forced them to reveal the news on short notice.

The rocker, too, reportedly learned that he had been kicked out of the band that same day.

Interestingly, they initially deleted the post confirming the news, after which the band’s guitarist Jim Root took to his Instagram Stories to post a cryptic message, saying, “Don’t believe everything you read.”

“Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for a while. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information,” he added.

Slipknot members were reportedly fed up with Sid Wilson’s behavior towards them.

After a while, though, Slipknot reposted the news on their Knotfest Instagram account, saying, “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson.”

“We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” they added.

Per TMZ, Wilson’s firing from the band he spent nearly 30 years with wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision.

Sources close to the group told the outlet that the decision was long overdue, mainly because the band members had “had enough” of how he treated them over the years.

Neither the band nor the DJ has released any further information about his firing.
