Captain Jack Sparrow’s return to Pirates of the Caribbean becomes a reality.
The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is a major success and began in 2003 with the release of The Curse of the Black Pearl. It has since grossed over $4.5 billion across five movies, with Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow being a major beloved character and widely celebrated. The movies revitalized the pirate genre for millions and have become a multi-billion-dollar empire; however, a sixth installment has everyone wondering if Jack Sparrow will return.
In an interview with Deadline, Jerry Bruckheimer responds to a question about Depp’s return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise for the sixth installment and whether the actor could be stepping into his old costume once again:
“We’re talking to Johnny. We’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done.”
More to come…
