Coronation Street’s Sam Robertson once dated a fellow famous face but according to her, the date was a “disaster”

Adam Barlow has been a staple on Coronation Street for several years – but who is actor Sam Robertson’s very famous ex?
Sam joined the long-running ITV soap in 2004 as Adam, the son of Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs). And over the years, he’s played a part in several big storylines.
From struggling with his mental health to becoming Weatherfield’s solicitor, Adam’s time on the cobbles has not been short of drama.
He’s also had a rather wild love life too, including romances with the likes of Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
Away from the soap though, actor Adam’s own romances have often made the headlines, including a fling with a fellow famous face.
Sam became linked to another celeb in 2020 when he started dating former footballer and pundit Alex Scott. The good-looking couple was seen drinking bubbles at London’s Dean Street Townhouse as they chatted, with one onlooker saying: “There was clearly a spark”.
However, the romance seemed to end there as Alex revealed things got off to a “bad start” when rumours began flying around in the press, with Alex admitting: “I never seem to have a lot of luck on dates”.
“My life has always been about being independent, making sure you can look after yourself and never wanting to feel that someone can walk out on you and take everything away from you,” Alex admitted to Fabulous magazine.
“My one date in ages was going out with Sam [Robertson], who is lovely.”
Alex did have high hopes but things got off to a rocky start because of the pressure surrounding their relationship status. She continued: “The next morning, our pictures were all over the press because someone in the restaurant had taken a photo. It wasn’t exactly a great start!”
Prior to this brief romance with Robertson, Alex had been in a secret eight-year relationship with former teammate Kelly Smith, who also represented Arsenal and England alongside the ex-right back.
She is currently dating chart-topping singer Jess Glynne. The pair got together in 2023 and have gone from strength to strength since.
