The Young and the Restless (Y&R) update for Monday, August 17, reveals that one GC resident will reject his firing.
There’ll also be a shared meal that brings some flirting, but the Abbotts’ focus will be on dealing with some sibling drama.
At Society, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will announce that she’s rescinding Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) job offer, but Billy will make it clear that Lily can’t fire him since she doesn’t really own Chancellor.
Billy will stun Lily and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) with an explanation for why the Abbotts own Chancellor instead, but they’ll assume this is some sort of scam he cooked up.
After telling the story of John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and the debt that was never paid, Billy will insist the documents are legit and that he’s indeed taking over.
Lily will deliver a stern warning about taking away everything that matters to Billy if he goes down this road, but he’ll stand his ground.
Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) will also arrive and get news on what’s happening, so he’ll realize his job may be a thing of the past.
At Jabot, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will surprise Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) when he shares what Billy uncovered in the Chancellor archives.
Ashley and Traci won’t like the sound of Billy fighting for Chancellor, but then Ashley will decide perhaps Billy needs this and will advise against getting in his way.
Jack won’t want John’s image to be tarnished in some scandal, but Traci and Ashley will convince him that he needs to take a step back since Billy’s going to do this no matter what.
Once Cane gets Jack on the phone and learns he’s in his office, he’ll head right over.
Cane will make a plea to the Abbotts for assistance since he’ll worry about the consequences if Billy gets his way.
At Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) place, Y&R spoilers say Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will find out he’s ready to have the procedure on his hand.
Nate will credit Stephanie with inspiring his return to medicine – at least if all goes well with the surgery.
Stephanie will call her pal who’s an orthopedic surgeon and arrange for her to fly in for a consultation, but she’ll think Nate is a great candidate for her new technique.
Stephanie will be hopeful about Nate returning to Genoa City Memorial Hospital as a surgeon and will agree to let him cook lunch for her.
Nate will impress Stephanie with his grilled cheese skills as they interact in a way that seems downright flirty!
