Bill Maher got some laughs Friday riffing on U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ (D-NY) egg-freezing revelations.
“I don’t know much about it,” the comedian admitted in his monologue on HBO’s Real Time while mentioning the 36-year-old Congresswoman’s very public effort to preserve her fertility by freezing her eggs.
“She’s freezing her eggs, something career women do,” he said.
“I get it, you got sh*t to do, put the kid on layaway,” he joked as the audience burst out laughing.
“I’m all for it but you know, trying to teach kids these days about sex between the, ‘You might be in the wrong body,’ and ‘Your brother’s in the freezer,’ I tell ya explaining the birds and the bees is a lot more complicated than just, ‘Mm kids,’” he said, before making a crude gesture.
In her latest Instagram post chronicling her efforts to stave off infertility, AOC took viewers with her as she got ready for an ultrasound.
“Day 7: What the ultrasounds look for, what I say to those discussing my age (36! 
), a sneak peek into my retrieval next week, and a lesser discussed reason why people freeze their eggs 
,” she wrote in the caption.

“Just a few days left until retrieval! I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the support and community that’s been created here,” she continued.
The Democrat’s Instagram videos — of which there are now seven — sparked some criticism but also reportedly prompted President Donald Trump’s White House to to caution against alienating female voters.
“Don’t be weird about this, even though I know all of you will be,” Ocasio-Cortez says in one clip.
“I think it’s important for us as leaders to have these conversations, conversations, and share these processes, especially for working women across the country, and normalize them,” she later explained, adding, “This is a choice that I am making to feel more in control of my life.”
“We most certainly want to encourage more women and families to have children, period,” an anonymous senior White House official told Axios, calling criticism “not helpful.”
“This isn’t really a winner for Republicans,” another advisor noted.
