Disney star reveals she’s working as a nurse after quitting fame


A DISNEY Channel star has shared she is working as a nurse after stepping away from fame – amid returning for her show’s reboot.

The now 33-year-old played a beloved character in a much-loved 00s Disney show.

Jennifer Stone starred as Harper Finkle, best friend of Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) on Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012.

She reprised her role after more than a decade to guest star in the finale of sequel series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Jennifer is also a registered nurse and worked on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Taking to Instagram after an ER shift, she expressed gratitude to fans for their enthusiasm over seeing Harper again.

Jennifer penned: “Thank you guys for all the incredible love for my girl Harper these last few days.

“I’ve been on shift at the ER all weekend but y’all have had me smiling from ear to ear between patients.

“After so much time away, I couldn’t be more grateful to step back into acting and be met with such a warm welcome.”

Jennifer further conveyed how the support received meant more to her than she could say.

She added: “Knowing you missed Miss Finkle as much as I did made returning to her and to this part of myself feel even more special.”

One person commented: “Harper was & still is my absolute favorite! I adore her & you with my whole heart!”

Another said: “Harper added and adds the whismy that the show needs. Thanks for the laughs.”

It comes as Jennifer revealed her reaction to auditioning for a main role on HBO Max medical drama The Pitt – which takes place in an ER.

Speaking on the “CHEERS! with Avery” podcast, the actress admitted she “started having a panic attack” after reading a particular scene.

The scene in question saw Noah Wyle’s lead character, Dr. Robby, have flashbacks to the chaotic ER during Covid.
