Jamie Redknapp and his wife Frida were seen enjoying an Italian getaway days after it was confirmed his ex-wife Louise had split from her new man
Jamie Redknapp has been having fun in the sun with his family. The former footballer and wife Frida posed for sweet snaps during their idyllic Italy trip.
And the League of Their Own star, 53, shared the occasion on Instagram. It comes after his ex-wife, Louise Redknapp, split from her new man.
Louise, 51, split from businessman and former Army officer, Drew Michael, 42, earlier this year it was revealed this week. But despite Louise being unlucky in love, ex-husband Jamie was keen to show his happiness online.
Jamie, Frida and and their son Raphael, four, enjoyed a luxurious Italian getaway. An image on social media showed the loved-up couple, who have been married for five years, with their arms around each other.
Another shot showed Frida posing in an off-the-shoulder mini dress. She completed the look with a pair of white heels as the married couple headed for dinner.
There were also images of the family enjoying time around the pool as they basked in the summer sunshine. While Louise might be single again, she isn’t thought to be dwelling on things.
Pals suggest the former Eternal band member is thriving as a singleton. A source told The Sun: “Louise and Drew decided to end things a little while ago.
“Things had been really good between them but it felt like their relationship had run its course and they both thought it was best to move on. It was all very amicable and although it’s never fun when a relationship ends, Louise has thrown herself back into her social life and her busy work schedule.”
And they added she is in no rush to settle down again. Instead sheis said to be just seeing what happens.
Jamie and Louise’s split shocked fans at the time. The mum-of-two and former footballer had been married for 19 years.
In the years after their split, Louise candidly admitted that she regrets rushing through the 2017 divorce and said she wished she’d communicated her struggles rather than walking away.
After years of being a stay-at-home mum, Louise was left feeling frustrated with her career. She had said goodbye to music to help raise Charley, 21, and Beau, 17 while Sky Sports regular Jamie was flourishing on TV. The frustrated Eternal singer realised she also needed to focus on her dreams with the boys growing up and stepped onto the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor in 2016.
But within a year, it was all over for the couple. Louise has been open about wanting to escape her “Stepford Wife” role but she later admitted that she shouldn’t have blamed her marriage for the sole cause of her unhappiness.
“I’m scared about the future – Jamie and I have got to a really positive place with each other, but I don’t know what life is going to be like,” she told You magazine back in 2019.
