Madelyn Cline would prefer if you didn’t call her madam.
The Outer Banks star revealed that she dealt with quite the situation while filming Day Drinker in Madrid alongside Penélope Cruz and Johnny Depp, as her apartment was constantly being visited by police who thought she was running a “sex ring.”
“Did I tell you the story about how when I was in Spain,” Cline asked host Jake Shane the Aug. 13 episode of his Therapuss podcast. “I was working, and the police kept showing up to my apartment door?”
When Shane joked that they thought she was a prostitute, the 28-year-old replied, “They thought I was the leader.”
Shane was shocked by the admission, quipping, “They thought you were a madam? How many girls were staying in your apartment?”
Cline confirmed it was just her living in the apartment at the time, adding that a conversation with her costar Cruz helped shed light on the situation.
