The sudden announcement of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s departure has sent shockwaves through the political landscape.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Leavitt would be leaving her post at the end of the month. Leavitt had just returned from maternity leave after giving birth to her second child.
Fox News pundit Mark Levin called Leavitt “fantastic press secretary” and said she would be missed.
Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair declared Leavitt was “one of the greatest to ever do it.”
Other notable figures took to social media to express their shock at the move and send to Leavitt well wishes.

The reception wasn’t entirely warm, however. In its reporting of the move, left-wing outlet MeidasTouch described Leavitt as “known for pushing lies and gaslighting the public from the briefing room podium.”
Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff said that Leavitt would be leaving the job to “spend a little more time… with the truth.”
Other left-leaning critics shared similar sentiments.
