Ex-NBA player Royce White announced he’s running for president after a crushing defeat in Minnesota’s Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
White managed to earn just 11.2% of the vote in Tuesday’s primary. He finished a distant third behind Adam Schwarze (24%) and winner Michele Tafoya (52.1%). Tafoya was a former NFL sideline reporter before pivoting to politics several years ago.
White declared in a Wednesday morning X post that he still “won” despite the election results, claiming he “got another clear look at the enemy and the enemy is us.”
“I will never concede to center left moderates or independents who have enabled these communists,” White said. “The Republicans who beg for their votes are traitors. They are how we got this far into insanity, not conservatives.
“There is no concession to crazy, no diplomacy, no accord. There is only the truth and lies. Citizenship or Globalism. There is only saving the Republic or continuing the slow rot of what we are in currently. Now that this charade is over, it’s time to take the gloves all the way off. These elections are a complete joke. Like President Trump has said.”
Included in the tweet was a preview of an interview White recently did.

White also declared in the post that he was going to “win MVP of the WNBA and then head to the oval office.”
Days earlier, White claimed he was transgender and announced his intent to enter the WNBA Draft.
It was same stunt pulled by fellow ex-NBA pro Enes Kanter. White has appeared on numerous media outlets donning a wig and insisting that he now identifies as a woman.
Two years earlier, White actually won the same primary he lost Tuesday. He went on to lose to Amy Klobuchar –the state’s longtime senator who is now running for governor — by 16 points.
