The Brown Terror Officially Unveiled

WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR HOUSE OF THE DRAGON SEASON 3 !!!After the Season 3 finale of House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones fans are completely divided over the show’s diversions from the original Fire & Blood source material. While it’s already one of the most-watched episodes of TV this year, fans of George R.R. Martin’s novels have been quite critical about changes to the showdown at Tumbleton, the handling of Helaena’s tragic fate, and other major upsets throughout the season, such as the Battle of the Gullet.

However, arguably one of the most controversial changes in the show so far deals with the omission of a fan-favorite character from the novels, Nettles, whose connection with Sheepstealer is one of the most beloved dragon relationships in Fire & Blood. Nettles was infamously folded into Rhaena’s character in the show, but fortunately, Sheepstealer still plays a pivotal role and has become a fan-favorite good boi dragon among viewers.

And now, thanks to the newly revealed release, Game of Thrones: The Brown Terror will officially bring back Sheepstealer for some hard-earned sweet, sweet revenge (via GoTD).

As part of the constantly expanding roster of unique dragons in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, Sheepstealer returns as The Brown Terror, which was certainly a choice of a name for the beloved, albeit feral, wild beast. Sheepstealer is a “dragon of hunger, impulse, and endurance. He does not seek glory, nor does he answer easily to command.”

Sheepstealer is no courtly dragon, no jewel of the pit, and no creature shaped by chains or ceremony. Brown as mud, smoke, and old earth, he haunts the high lonely places, descending without warning to seize sheep from the fields and vanish again into the wild. Generations of shepherds learned to scan the skies not for storms, but for the ragged shadow of his wings.

Sheepstealer has a unique set of abilities in-game, functioning as a high-damage-dealing fire-breather who marks individual targets with his “Prey” feature. His Wild Hunt Command “reduces the target’s Recovery Received,” and he is equipped with the following distinct Habits:

Stolen Flock: Increases your Fire Damage Dealt based on the number of stacks accrued.
Dragon’s Cunning: Gives players increased Intelligence and reduce the Instincts of 2 enemies at the start of a round.
Baited Kill: Gives you a chance to inflict Vulnerable on Prey, while also giving you a chance to remove negative effects.
Wary Beast: Reduces the Recovery Received of 3 enemies and gives a chance to gain Evade for 1 round.
Savage Claim: Applies increased Fire damage and can deal triple damage and recovery in the third round.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is a highly rated new mobile strategy game from Warner Bros. Boston that incorporates various tie-ins to both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Sheepstealer is just one of dozens of dragons on the game’s roster, which includes both established dragons from the show/books as well as completely original dragons specific to Dragonfire.

The game comes highly recommended among mobile players and ranks among the top-rated mobile games on both the App Store and Google Play. While House of the Dragon may be over, Dragonfire will continue to give players connected content between now and the final Season 4 when it eventually airs.
