SEOUL, Aug. 12 (UPI) — South Korea’s Hana Bank said Wednesday it launched a center that specializes in foreign exchange-related capital transactions in southern Seoul.
The lender said the center is designed to deal with complex, cross-border capital transactions, including foreign direct investment and acquisitions of overseas securities.
Through partnerships with major law and accounting firms, Hana Bank said it aims to offer streamlined, one-stop support for such transactions, adding that foreign exchange specialists will be at the center.
The affiliate of Hana Financial Group said that it also would cater to Koreans relocating abroad, as well as overseas Koreans returning home, providing tailored financial assistance throughout the relocation process.
Services will range from overseas remittances and foreign asset acquisitions to regulatory filings and other foreign exchange-related procedures, according to Hana Bank.
Hana Bank CEO Lee Ho-sung participated in the center’s opening ceremony Tuesday with representatives from the country’s major law firms, including Barun.
“Hana Bank has always prioritized customers and continuously enhanced its foreign exchange expertise in line with the changing global financial environment,” Lee said in a statement.
“Through the new center, we will provide faster and more specialized financial solutions for complex foreign exchange transactions, establishing ourselves as the premier and most trusted foreign exchange-specialized bank for our customers.”
Hana Bank is not publicly listed. The share price of its parent company, Hana Financial Group, edged up 0.16% on the Seoul bourse Wednesday.
