Though everyone understandably has their own favorites in the now-extensive series, there’s no denying that Final Fantasy X is an all-time great release. The story and game world are absolutely some of the best we have seen in the franchise to date, and the turn-based systems employed by the developer are more open to strategic thinking than most of its immediate peers.
You may not have realized it, but 2026 is also the year that the game celebrates a quarter of a century since it first debuted, and that really is a milestone worth celebrating in the world of video games. Happily, Square Enix agrees, and they have just confirmed that there are plenty of plans in place to mark the occasion later this year.
Final Fantasy 10’s 25th Anniversary Won’t Go Uncelebrated
As first reported by Siliconera, Square Enix and Animate have revealed more details about the tickets and merchandise sales at the upcoming Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary Museum. The event is taking place at Lumine 0, a fairground in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, and it’s set to run from Saturday, September 12, 2026 — Sunday, September 27, 2026.
They have confirmed that tickets bought ahead of time will retail for ¥2,000 (~$12.65), while those who buy them on the day will see those rise to ¥2,600 (~$16.40). At the same time, fans who do manage to make it out to the event will be given one of the eight Final Fantasy X–themed temple cards at random.
The museum will also featured some merchandise stalls, with the items on sale and their respective prices in JPY as follows:
- Zanarkand Abes jacket – ¥17,600
- Amulet-styled keychain – ¥880 for 1 of 8 designs at random
- Bouncer’s pouch – ¥1,650
- Shoulder pouch styled after Auron’s jug – ¥4,950
- Blitzball soft cushion – ¥5,500
If you are planning to head out there, tickets for the event can be purchased from the official retailer, via the E+ website, or secured on the day (though be aware that availability for those will depend on how busy the venue is at the time.
Square Enix Has Big Plans
As well as that, Final Fantasy fans have plenty of other projects to look forward to. The most notable is the conclusion of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, with Revelation currently targeting a Spring 2027 release. At the same time, the HD-2D turn-based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance is set to arrive even sooner, with an October 22 release date currently mooted for that one.
