USHER has hit back at bizarre claims that he used a ‘clone’ to perform in his place during his New Jersey gig last week – as furious fans demanded refunds.
The My Boo singer, 47, and Chris Brown, 37, took to the stage at MetLife Stadium on Friday and Saturday (7 and 8 August) as part of their Raymond & Brown Tour.
Footage from the concert has gone viral after fans have claimed that Usher wasn’t actually performing in real life because it didn’t look like him as he danced away in an all white outfit, sunglasses and a snapback cap.
Radio station Power 105.1 posted about the ‘clone’ debate on their Instagram, and Usher ran straight to the comments section to set the record straight.
He wrote: “How ya’ll come up with this? AI ain’t that advanced.”
The comment has gained over 2,000 likes and over 100 replies.
One TikTok user named @thesultandiaries shared a clip of him performing on stage with the caption: “Usher, why’d you have to play us all like tat last night?? That is NOT Usher!”
Many rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts on if it was actually Usher or not.
One said: “He did multiple songs? I saw videos and thought he came out as a prank. This is unacceptable and I would want a refund immediately!”
Another added: “Everyone needs a refund, this is actually insane.”
