Talent and timing still matter in Hollywood – but when your parents already have a star on the Walk of Fame, getting a foot in the door is undeniably easier.
That advantage has made ‘nepo baby‘ one of pop culture’s favorite labels, as fans gleefully call out stars who benefited from their Tinseltown bloodlines.
Of course, nepotism is hardly new: Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis was born to legends Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, while Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr and even Jane Fonda have all turned their pedigrees into serious Hollywood currency.
But a fresh wave of Gen Z heirs is snapping at their designer-clad heels, armed with celebrity parents, glossy social feeds and an apparent allergy to ordinary jobs. Now, Daily Mail insiders give the lowdown on the Gen-Z elite with real talent and star power – and the fame-hungry hopefuls treating their recognizable surname like a ticket to Hollywood.

Joe Anders
Joe Anders is the son of Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet and acclaimed director Sam Mendes; Above, Anders and Winslet in 2025
Joe Anders made his feature-film debut at just 15 in the war epic 1917 – although audiences knew him by a different name.
Credited as Joe Mendes, he is the son of Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet and acclaimed director Sam Mendes.
He changed his professional name to Joe Anders in 2022, just as the ‘nepo baby’ debate was going viral.
And now, the 22-year-old actor appears to have found his rhythm. He recently played troubled teenager Zach in Apple TV+’s Cape Fear, sharing the screen with Amy Adams, Javier Bardem and Patrick Wilson – his mother’s Little Children co-star.
Anders has also made a name for himself behind the camera. At 19, he took a weekly screenwriting course at the National Film and Television School and went on to write Goodbye June, a screenplay inspired by the death of his maternal grandmother.
Winslet loved the script so much that she decided to direct it, with Netflix coming on board and a starry cast – including Helen Mirren and Toni Collette – joining her on screen. The project marked Winslet’s directorial debut and Anders’s screenwriting debut.

Unlike some of his Gen Z peers, Anders appears to have more than a famous surname doing the heavy lifting. Between acting, writing and a Netflix credit, he is shaping up as one of the few next-gen nepo babies with the talent to back up the pedigree.
As for the ‘nepo baby’ label, Anders has been refreshingly candid. Speaking to The Observer, he said: ‘I think, obviously, I am very lucky I’ve been born into a family that works in an industry I admire and love and want to be a part of.’
‘I mean, I’m unbelievably lucky. I’m not deluding myself about how lucky I am,’ he added, insisting that he ‘doesn’t want to be given anything.’
His next major project is Netflix’s adaptation of East of Eden, in which he stars as Aron Trask alongside Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist.
Anders is also close to his older half-sister, Mia Threapleton, who has followed him into acting. She is Winslet’s daughter from her first marriage to painter and filmmaker Jim Threapleton.
Honor Alba
Honor Alba is the 18-year-old daughter of actress Jessica Alba and film producer Cash Warren; Above, Honor and Jessica in 2025
Honor Alba may have the family connections, but she also appears to be taking the right steps to prove she is more than just Jessica Alba’s daughter.
The 18-year-old daughter of the actress and film producer Cash Warren is preparing to head to Yale University in the autumn, following in her father’s academic footsteps.
But while she may be Ivy League-bound, sources tell the Daily Mail that she is also eyeing a future in Hollywood – just not in front of the camera.
‘Honor wants to be a writer and director,’ our source said. ‘She wants to be behind the camera, not in front of it like her famous mother. She definitely wants to be behind the scenes and call the shots.’
That ambition is already taking shape. In July, Honor released her short film Unsaid, which she wrote, directed and edited herself – a project she was ‘really proud of’ because it was ‘her idea and dream project,’ per the insider.
Honor also described the film as ‘written and directed by me’ when she shared a clip online.
Still, her parents, who split in 2024 after 16 years of marriage, are said to be helping her get a bit of a head start.
‘Honor wants to be a writer and director,’ our source said, adding, ‘She wants to be behind the camera, not in front of it like her famous mother. She definitely wants to be behind the scenes and call the shots’
‘They are already making connections for her to enter the business once she finishes with Yale,’ our source claimed, adding that she will likely continue making short films while at university.
Honor has already gained on-set experience, working for her father’s friend, director Tim Story, on 72 Hours, which stars Kevin Hart, according to our source.
She is also helping Alba as she films Netflix’s upcoming 13 Going on 30 reboot in Los Angeles, following the crew around ‘like an internship’ to learn how a production works.
Sadie & Sunny Sandler
Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sunny and Sadie, have been familiar faces in Hollywood since they were children, regularly appearing in their dad’s hit movies
Sadie and Sunny Sandler have been Hollywood fixtures since childhood, thanks to their famous father Adam Sandler and model-actress mother Jackie Sandler.
But after years of popping up in their parents’ productions, the sisters are now stepping out of the family comedy machine and into leading roles of their own.
Sadie, 20, made her on-screen debut as a toddler in her father’s films, appearing in You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Grown Ups, Blended and Murder Mystery. She also voiced Winnie in the Hotel Transylvania franchise, quietly building up a sizeable list of credits before landing more prominent roles.
Sunny, 17, followed a similar path, appearing alongside her sister in a string of family productions.
But the pair’s big breakthrough came in Netflix’s 2023 You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, in which Sunny played the lead and Sadie appeared as her on-screen sister with Adam playing their father, naturally.
A Daily Mail source says the sisters’ careers are now taking distinctly different shapes.
‘Both of Adam’s daughters have long resumes as they have worked on several of his films. But in recent years they have walked different paths, with Sadie being the quirky character actress who rolls her eyes and makes jokes, while Sunny is being groomed to work as a leading lady.’
The siblings big breakthrough came in Netflix’s 2023 You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah
The source added: ‘She had the lead in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah and is the lead in her next film Don’t Say Good Luck. There is high hopes for her to become a romantic comedy actress. Meanwhile, Sadie continues to have supporting parts in movies and TV shows.’
That assessment tracks with their latest projects. Sunny has taken the lead in Netflix’s coming-of-age film Don’t Say Good Luck, while Sadie stars in the college comedy Roommates.
The sisters recently reunited with their father in Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2, where they made quite an impression on director Kyle Newacheck.
‘They’re very good at acting,’ he told People in July 2025. ‘It just makes me excited to see what they’re going to come up with in the next 10 years, if they’re going to follow their father’s footsteps and be committed to this family business. They’re all very talented and it’s awesome watching them work.’
Their latest roles suggest the sisters may be more than just familiar faces from their father’s films – and could be ready to carve out careers of their own.

Keen Ruffalo
The son of Avengers star Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney, Keen Ruffalo was raised on a farm
Keen Ruffalo may have inherited a Marvel surname, but he insists he did not get a Hollywood fast pass.
The 25-year-old son of Avengers star Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney, Keen was raised on a farm and kept far from the industry – before quietly building a list of credits in Thor: Ragnarok, Hal & Harper and Task.
But acting was not always the plan. By 18, Keen was studying fashion design at Drexel University, making it a couple of semesters before the pandemic hit and he dropped out. ‘It was like, I need to figure out what I’m gonna do with my future. Acting makes my dad happy, maybe I’ll enjoy it,’ he recalled to Cultured.
The change of direction led him to acting classes, theater work and, eventually, more than 100 auditions.
Now, he is finally getting his big chance with the Green Day-inspired comedy Nimrods and Amazon Prime Video’s teen drama Sterling Point.
But Ruffalo says his father was determined not to hand him a career on a silver platter.
Ruffalo said his father only gave him the Hollywood green light after seeing him perform in a play (Pictured: Mark Ruffalo, Odette Ruffalo, Bella Noche Ruffalo, Keen Ruffallo and Sunrise Coigney in 2019)
‘My dad didn’t want to hand me or my siblings anything because it’s just not how he was raised,’ he told the outlet. ‘So I went to a couple of the major schools and studied different acting techniques.’
His father only gave him the green light after seeing him perform in a play. ‘Then [my dad] came and saw one of my plays one day, and he’s like, “All right, I think you’re ready to do this,”‘ Keen recalled.
He has also pushed back against the assumption that he grew up surrounded by Hollywood glamour. ‘Contrary to popular belief, I was actually raised on a farm and kept very far away from all of that,’ he told the outlet.
Magnus Ferrell
Magnus Ferrell is the son of comedy legend Will Ferrell
Magnus Ferrell is proving that Hollywood offspring can have a hit without appearing on screen beside their famous parents.
The 22-year-old son of comedy legend Will Ferrell has become an unlikely music sensation with his soulful single Asleep Talking, prompting comparisons to Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke.
More importantly, he did not emerge from nowhere: Ferrell had been writing, producing and releasing music since his teens, after years of piano lessons and playing in a jazz band.
Released in April, the song found a much bigger audience after Will played it for Michelle Obama during a podcast appearance. Since then, Khloe Kardashian, Charlie Puth and Heidi Klum have shown it some love, and it has climbed onto the Billboard charts.
But while his father’s plug undoubtedly gave him a boost, it was the song – not a cameo or a comedy sketch – that listeners kept returning to.
‘Magnus really wants his music career to take off, and there have been moments so far of it actually working out,’ a Daily Mail source said. ‘He gets that people are going to ask him about his dad all the time, but he’s not looking to do Anchorman 3 or be on SNL. He wants to be a successful singer and believes he is talented enough to make it.’

Magnus is under no illusion that his surname helped get people listening. ‘You have to acknowledge the position that you’re in because they’re not wrong. I can’t control the attention that I get because of my dad, but, like, it is there,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Still, he may be one of the rare nepo babies getting the balance right.
‘He hasn’t been pushed down our throats like some other nepo babies; he seems to be doing it right,’ the source added. ‘If there is a right way to do it, Magnus might have the blueprint.’
Kai Schreiber

Kai Schreiber arrived on the fashion scene with a famous surname and a Valentino runway debut, walking at Paris Fashion Week in March 2025 at just 16.
The daughter of actors Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber quickly found herself at the center of the nepo-baby debate, with critics questioning whether her parents had helped open the door. But Liev was not entertaining the backlash.
‘I don’t have many thoughts for the haters,’ Liev told TMZ. ‘I’m gonna put it to you like this: What if you were a professional actor and your child decided they wanted to do something in this world? Do they have the choice of what you did?’
He continued: ‘It doesn’t matter, like, that’s her life. She does what she wants with her life. And I’m super proud of her. I thought she did an amazing job on the show.’
Since then, Schreiber has quickly become a fashion fixture, appearing in campaigns for Valentino, Haus Labs and H&M, while landing editorial features in AnOther, The Face, V and Interview.
She has also walked for major houses including Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier.
And, according to a Daily Mail source, she is not short on ambition. ‘Kai is hyper ambitious and wants to set the world on fire,’ the source said, adding that she dreams of traveling the world as a full-time model, landing a Vogue cover and walking for Chanel.
The source said Schreiber wants to make her first million by 18 and ‘cannot be stopped’ in her drive to get ahead.
Her parents worry, however, that she is so determined that some may think she is a ‘total diva or too confident with an attitude,’ said the source.
‘They want her to be careful and take her time. They just worry about her going out into the world to work at 17. They want to protect her.’
Their concern is understandable: Schreiber has been in the spotlight long before her modeling breakthrough. In 2016, she voiced a young wolf in The Jungle Book alongside older brother Sasha Schreiber, who also voiced a wolf.

Sean Preston and Jayden Federline

Britney Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, have made their first major move into the spotlight – walking the runway at Vetements’ Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week.
The brothers have largely avoided public attention until now, but are suddenly exploring careers of their own.
Jayden, 19, told Vogue that he is interested in doing more modeling, while Sean Preston, 20, said he enjoyed the experience but was unsure whether it was something he wanted to pursue seriously. Both brothers said their main focus remains music, which they have worked on together for years.
The runway debut came against the backdrop of fresh turmoil surrounding their mother. Spears recently entered a treatment facility after an arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, with reports suggesting that her sons played a role in encouraging her to seek help.
But their relationship has been strained for years. After Spears and their father, Kevin Federline, separated, the boys lived primarily with their dad, and contact with their mom became limited.
The cynical view is that Sean Preston and Jayden James could be cashing in on the Spears name as they begin seeking attention of their own – particularly after years of estrangement from their mother
Jayden reportedly began rebuilding the relationship in late 2024, while both sons have since been seen reconnecting with Spears.
Now, with both brothers old enough to launch careers, their sudden arrival in fashion and music is bound to attract scrutiny.
The cynical view is that they could be cashing in on the Spears name as they begin seeking attention of their own – particularly after years of estrangement from their mother.
And Sean Preston recently added his famous mother’s surname to his social media handle, dropping ‘Federline’ for ‘Spears’ – a move that may signal a renewed bond, but has also raised eyebrows about the timing.
Apple Martin
Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is entering the entertainment industry with a significant head start
Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is entering entertainment with every possible advantage – and appears to be trying a little bit of everything to see what sticks.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University in May 2026 with a degree in Law, History, and Society, Martin signed with CAA – the same agency that represents her mother – and began pursuing entertainment full-time.
She had already tried modeling, appearing in campaigns for Gap, Chloe and Self-Portrait, before turning to music.
In October 2025, she performed with Vanderbilt student band Jade Street at Nashville’s Cannery Hall as her father watched from the audience.
She has now pivoted to acting, landing a role in Nancy Meyers’ upcoming Paris Paramount alongside Penelope Cruz, Jude Law, Owen Wilson and Tony Hale.
It is an impressive list of opportunities – but also a career path that currently feels more like a celebrity sampler platter than a clear calling. Modeling, singing and now acting: Martin seems to be testing every door her surname can open.
The music performance even drew criticism over her vocals and the perception that an unknown performer may not have received the same opportunity. Yet Martin has acknowledged her privilege.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University in May 2026 with a degree in Law, History, and Society, Martin signed with CAA – the same agency that represents her mother – and began pursuing entertainment full-time
In a 2025 interview with The Telegraph, she said: ‘I constantly remind myself how grateful I am to have these opportunities. I know this is not a normal way to grow up by any means. But my parents did a really good job of instilling in me that I shouldn’t be entitled to anything. I have to work.’
The comment is self-aware – but Martin has a safety net most aspiring performers could only dream of: famous parents, a powerhouse agent, modeling jobs and a movie role, all before choosing a lane.
Acting may be the one that sticks. Until then, she has plenty of doors open – but still has to prove there is more to her career than the name on them.
Rowan Henchy

Rowan Henchy may be trying to make it on her own – but she has picked a very Hollywood way to do it.
The 23-year-old daughter of Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy has joined season two of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC, the reality show where celebrity offspring attempt to forge their own identities.
Henchy, a Wake Forest communications graduate with a journalism minor, has ambitions in broadcast news and entertainment.
But joining a program built entirely around famous surnames has invited an obvious question: is she stepping out of her parents’ shadow – or using it as a launchpad?
Even Shields was uneasy at first. ‘We’re not a reality family,’ she told ET in May, admitting she worried Bravo could hinder Henchy’s journalism ambitions. She later confessed she was ‘sick to my stomach’ over the prospect.

Then came the strategic pivot. Shields told Henchy to ‘parlay’ the show into another opportunity, calling it ‘a business choice.’ In other words: If you are going to become a reality-TV nepo baby, make sure it leads somewhere.
A Daily Mail source insists Henchy has more to offer than her surname: ‘She is amazing – incredible, ambitious, sweet and grounded, with a sense of humor. She is who you see on the show. She really is a great kid and she’s humble. She doesn’t mind the “nepo baby” title at all.’
Indeed, Henchy is at least refreshingly open about the label, telling Today she is ‘obsessed’ with the term ‘nepo baby’ and will never shy away from it.

Milania Giudice
Milania Giudice, the 20-year-old daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice (above) and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, has dabbled in influencer work, but recently found herself in the midst of personal turmoil, including an arrest in May
Milania Giudice has grown up on reality TV – but so far, she is not following sister Gia into a Bravo-backed nepo-baby success story.
The 20-year-old daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and ex-husband Joe Giudice has dabbled in influencer work, including a Shein back-to-college collection.
But lately, the headlines around Giudice have had less to do with building a brand – and more to do with personal turmoil.
In May, Giudice was arrested after a domestic dispute at Teresa’s New Jersey home and charged with simple assault and causing bodily injury. Prosecutors allege she struck a person identified in court as ‘LR’; she pleaded not guilty in July, and the case is ongoing.
Then came the messy optics. Police video released weeks later showed Giudice appearing to laugh while seated in the back of a patrol car. She later joked online about an AI-generated mugshot – saying she ‘looked fire’ – before insisting the arrest was not something she was proud of and that she wanted to learn from it.
And, according to a source speaking to the Daily Mail, Giudice’s reputation as the ‘rowdy girl’ and the Giudice daughter most likely to ‘act out’ has been shaped by the upheaval around her family.
‘Her father is her best friend. They’ve always had a tight relationship,’ the source said, pointing to the impact of Joe Giudice’s deportation to Italy after his prison sentence.
Teresa and Joe split in 2019 and finalized their divorce the following year, after two decades of marriage.

According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail, Milania’s reputation as the ‘rowdy girl’ and Giudice daughter most likely to ‘act out’ has been shaped by the upheaval around her family
The source also alleged that, while stepfather Luis ‘Louie’ Ruelas is a father figure, he ‘will never replace Joe,’ and that the family presents a smoother picture online than the reality behind closed doors.
‘They’ve [Milania and Louie] had more disagreements that have not been brought to light and they definitely put on a facade on social media,’ the source claimed.
Still, the contrast with sister Gia is difficult to miss. While Gia has converted the Giudice name into a reality-TV slot, podcast, influencer career and modeling work, Giudice is still trying to find a lane beyond being Teresa’s loudest daughter.
‘Milania is trying to make it better to save face since she doesn’t want to embarrass her mother. Teresa is the main source of income for the family,’ the source added.

At 13, the question is not whether North West can succeed as a nepo baby – but whether fame is coming too fast.
As the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, the teen has access to an entertainment world most aspiring artists could only dream of.
She has performed alongside her father, appeared as Young Simba at The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, voiced a character in PAW Patrol, and released her six-track debut EP, N0rth4evr.
Her first co-headlining tour with rapper Molly Santana was then canceled days before it was due to begin, with all 14 dates marked canceled on Ticketmaster. West said she was disappointed but promised fans ‘something special’ was coming next.
West is still a teenager, so it is too early to judge her career. But her music release, canceled tour and high-profile social-media image – including electric-blue hair, both real and faux piercings and fake face tattoos – have prompted questions about how much adult celebrity culture she is being exposed to.

Alabama Barker has the sort of family tree most aspiring influencers could only dream of: Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker as her father, model Shanna Moakler as her mother, and Kourtney Kardashian as her stepmother.
But privilege does not automatically make a career. While other nepo babies have found a clear lane, Barker’s public profile has too often been defined by online drama rather than a breakout project of her own.
Her months-long feud with Bhad Bhabie – which began after Bhabie accused Barker of pursuing her then-boyfriend, a claim Barker denied – spiraled into diss tracks, social-media jabs and increasingly wild allegations.
It made plenty of noise, but did little to establish 20-year-old Barker as an artist in her own right.
And a source told the Daily Mail that Barker had changed dramatically since moving in with her father and Kardashian.
‘It’s a shame what’s happened to Alabama over the years,’ the source said. ‘She’s changed a lot ever since moving in with Travis and Kourtney. She is a spitting image of her mother, but her behavior has shifted to being more of the Kardashians because of their influence on her.’
The source also raised concerns over Barker’s public image, claiming: ‘She wears provocative clothes and a LOT of makeup – this wasn’t what she was like growing up at all. She’s turned into a Barbie doll. Some of the things she does are definitely concerning.’
Barker’s recent response to body-shaming showed the ugly side of living so publicly.

In a TikTok video, she said she would get on the ‘highest dose’ of Ozempic and become ‘so skinny’ after receiving what she called ‘disgusting’ comments about her appearance.
The source said Moakler is particularly concerned about Barker’s wellbeing and has urged her not to give in to the cruelty.
‘It seems to be what Alabama is usually concerned over and is really affected by the body shamers,’ the source said, before adding that Barker is ‘taking the steps to do the hard work on surrounding herself with better people’ and focusing on personal goals.
One of those goals is music. ‘She’s going to be working on a pop album with her brother Landon,’ the source said. ‘They have a huge opportunity coming up.’
Landon already has a record deal and released his debut single in 2023, so the sibling project may be Barker’s best chance to build something beyond her online feuds.

Alaia Baldwin was handed the full Hollywood starter pack: she is Stephen Baldwin’s daughter, Hailey Bieber’s older sister and Justin Bieber’s sister-in-law.
Yet while Hailey has turned the Baldwin name into a global beauty business, Baldwin’s biggest recent headline has been far less glamorous.
Hailey has the modeling career, the A-list husband and Rhode’s deal with e.l.f. Beauty worth up to $1 billion.
Baldwin, meanwhile, has modeled for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein and works as an endometriosis advocate – but her public profile has never quite escaped the ‘Hailey Bieber’s sister’ label.
Then came the nightclub scandal.

Malia Obama was born with the ultimate Hollywood shortcut – but she appears to be taking the scenic route.
The eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama graduated from Harvard in 2021, cut her teeth on Girls and Extant, landed a writing job on Donald Glover’s Swarm, and made her directorial debut with Sundance short The Heart.
For the Sundance film, the 28-year-old went by ‘Malia Ann’ – an effort to let the work speak before the surname.
But her resume remains promising rather than packed, and the ‘Malia Ann’ rebrand can only do so much when everyone knows exactly who her parents are.
Add the smoking photo controversy that has followed her since a 2016 Lollapalooza video – plus later cigarette snaps at Harvard and in Los Angeles – and the former first daughter has not exactly had a quiet route into Hollywood.
She now needs the breakout project that turns a famous surname and a Sundance credit into a career of her own.
