Prime Video‘s new series has solved a big mystery.
Prime Video has a huge catalog of series and movies, from already beloved franchises to original creations from the streaming giant. The streaming service is an included perk for all Amazon Prime members and has become a multi-billion-dollar success with a large subscriber count reaching over 200 countries. With series such as Fallout and The Boys, it’s hard to deny that Prime Video is among one of the biggest platforms available.
A new mystery drama series has become an overnight sensation on Prime Video and dominates the streaming charts. Sterling Point, created by Megan Park, is now a worldwide hit, defeating other major titles such as Off Campus, The Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Spider-Noir. Sterling Point season 1 stars Ella Rubin, Amélie Hoeferle, Keen Ruffalo, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jay Duplass, and Missi Pyle in a mystery all centered on one island.
Sterling Point season 1 debuted with an impressive score of 92% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. ScreenRant‘s critic stated that “If you’re a fan of cheesy YA drama full of cringey dialogue, an iconic soundtrack, and gut-wrenchingly powerful performances, then it’s a no-brainer to add Sterling Point to your watchlist for the perfect binge-watch session.“
Other critics were also impressed and added that the series was “Excellently shot and acted… [includes] instantly lovable characters, stellar performances (particularly from Rubin, Bragason and Hoeferle who are now definitively stars), and plenty of whip-smart dialogue and swoonworthy romance.”
Fans are also quick to praise the series as social media is abuzz with calls for more from Sterling Point and its young yet impressive cast. Recently, Park addressed calls that have been made loud and clear for more Sterling Point and stated that there’s a lot more to tell with this story by saying, “Season 1, you do spend a lot of time setting up the world, and then I do almost feel like if you get a season 2, it’s when you relax and go deeper.”
Sterling Point season 2 almost seems like an inevitability given the rave reviews and streaming success on Prime Video. At the time of writing, Prime Video has yet to announce a new season for Sterling Point, but all eight episodes of season 1 are available to watch on the streaming giant now.
