NORTH West has released a new music video, and fans are creeped out by its dark visuals and haunting lyrics.
The 13-year-old is following in her rapper father Kanye West‘s footsteps by pursuing a music career that has people buzzing.
On Thursday, Kanye and Kim Kardashian‘s oldest daughter released the official music video for her new single Aishite.
The video aligns with North‘s creative style, featuring the teen wearing bright blue lipstick with a black skull and crossbones painted on the side of her lips, several facial piercings, and her hair in blue pigtails.
She appeared to be in an abandoned school, sitting at a desk, dancing in front of a chalkboard and in a computer lab, and wandering throughout the halls while strobe lights flashed around her.
North rocked two similar outfits: one being a short black dress with a white collar, and the other, a white and pink dress with a fluffy tulle skirt, knee-high boots, and rainbow hair.
Several close-up shots showed the youngster sporting black teeth as she sang along to the music.
The lyrics, however, raised eyebrows among fans, who wondered if there was a deeper meaning behind them.
North sang, “Ain’t nobody finna save me / And it’s drivin’ me crazy / Can’t escape ’cause they chase me / Just love me, everyone betrays me.”
The song samples Japanese artist Kikuo’s track Love Me, Love Me, Love Me – which fans have said is about the “suffocating weight of parental expectations.”

Fans feared that North could be expressing her true feelings about her life in the spotlight, and pleading for help.
“I like it, but can I just say that while we are bopping our heads, we should listen to the lyrics of what she’s saying. She is crying out, don’t fail her like we’ve failed so many others,” one person wrote in the comments of the YouTube video.
“A 13-year-old won’t just up and write dark lyrics like this with no reason behind it. We know what her family’s like……..I believe anything and everything,” another said.
“This song is really sad. I was depressed at 13 too, hopefully North gets the love and support she needs from somewhere,” a third reacted.
“This felt spiritually heavy in a way that didn’t sit right with me,” a fourth remarked.
North’s A-lister mom Kim has been criticized in the past about letting her oldest daughter grow up way too fast, by getting piercings and dressing like a much older teen.
Meanwhile, North’s fans have worried that her dad Kanye’s erratic behavior in the past will negatively affect her.
North’s video release comes just days after her summer concert tour with rapper Molly Santana was suddenly canceled.
The 14-day tour was supposed to kick off on August 6, but there was a last-minute change of plans.
“It was several factors, but mainly having to do with Molly not being available,” an insider told the Daily Mail about the tour’s abrupt halt, adding that the young star “wanted to finish her album” before embarking on a tour.
The source also said that “low ticket sales” were another reason they decided to pull the plug.
“They really needed to pack these venues to make a profit because the tour was expensive with a lot of security and travel,” they added.
North released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, in May.
