Chappell Roan announces two-day L.A. fundraiser for trans youth

Chappell Roan will perform at a two-night charity event at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Oct. 21-22, with net proceeds supporting the Midwest Princess Project’s work on behalf of trans youth and LGBTQ communities.

The event, called “The Super Graphic Spectacular,” will include performances from Ms. Roan and collaborators alongside drag artists and comedians each night, according to a release cited by Variety. The fundraiser marks one year since Ms. Roan founded the Midwest Princess Project, which directs money to organizations serving trans youth and LGBTQ communities.

The project says it has raised more than $800,000 to date and has supported more than 60 organizations working on behalf of LGBTQ communities, according to its website. All net proceeds from the Los Angeles shows will go toward the project’s continuing work, the site states.

Ms. Roan has kept a relatively low public profile this year after her February appearance at the Grammy Awards. Her “Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things” tour wrapped in March with a closing show in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
