The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, August 10, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will have a horrible dream about all the ways he’s destroyed his family, so let’s talk about the special standalone episode that’s coming up.
At a cheap motel, Nick will ignore texts from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) before falling asleep.
That’ll kick off a wild dream that involves Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) being his old sinister self and guiding Nick through all the destruction he’s caused.
Matt will insist Nick likes the freedom of being high since he doesn’t have to live up to all the pressures of being the perfect Newman.
After Matt drives Nick to The Shadow Room, they’ll find Sharon as high as a kite.
It’ll seem like Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is there to blast Nick for turning Sharon into a junkie and to take her to rehab, but she’ll eventually reveal she’s Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) and rant about what a disappointment her dad’s become.
Cassie will also slap Matt while Nick gets in the car with Sharon.
Nick will lose control behind the wheel when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) suddenly pops up and tries to strangle him.
After Nick suddenly gets transported to the Newman ranch, Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will yell about how they’ll never forgive him for killing Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Nick will insist he didn’t do that, but Chelsea and Adam will explain how he left his fentanyl stash out.
Based on this dream version of events, Connor got curious and suffered a deadly overdose.
Adam and Chelsea will insist they’re going to take Christian Newman (last played by Alex Wilson) to protect him from Nick.
After Nick realizes he ruins everything, he’ll rush out the door.
Nick will end up back at The Shadow Room, where his dealer will try to entice him with more drugs.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will intervene before Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) joins her in ranting at Nick.
After Nikki admits she’s separated from Victor again, she’ll insist it’s Nick’s fault since Victor blames her for being a bad influence.
Nikki will eventually order up a double vodka from the bartender as Nick tries to stop her.
Back in Nick’s motel room, he’ll imagine Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is there.
Nick will promise to do better, but Victoria will make it clear that he has to actually put the work in and follow through.
After someone starts banging on the door, Nick will wake up and answer it.
Jade Harlow will debut as Marie Wilson on Monday’s Y&R episode and question Nick since she heard yelling next door.
Once Nick explains that he had a nightmare, Marie will ask if he has any stuff to share.
