A Gilmore Girls documentary is currently in production with HBO Max!
The film will apparently be told from the view of the show’s beloved creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, executive producer Daniel Palladino. It “reveals how the show eclipsed expectations to become a cross-generational phenomenon by unpacking the unique alchemy of the creators, cast, crew and collaborators. The film includes never-before-seen outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage and script pages.”
Lauren Graham, who portrayed Lorelai Gilmore, will be featured. They also promise additional key cast and crew. So far, there’s no word if Alexis Bledel will be on board. She starred as Rory Gilmore.
If you are not aware, the prevailing fan favorite TV series ran from 2000-2007 and was a big success at the time. Since it wrapped up, it has continued to maintain relevance as many stream it over and over. It is considered a “comfort watch” by many, and many new generations are being introduced to the show as well.
There’s actually another Gilmore Girls documentary happening and several of the show’s stars are participating in the doc, but there are several key members of the cast that are not.
