The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, August 5, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will make an ominous comment that could lead to trouble.
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will also sound the alarm about what Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is capable of while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) rages at Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
At the ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will come home and find the place all decked with flowers to set a romantic mood.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will eventually offer Nikki’s ring back to her and wish that she’d marry him again, so she’ll quickly accept.
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will pop up to officiate while Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) are all there to witness this vow renewal.
Although Nikki will have concerns about Nick leaving rehab for this, he’ll offer reassurance.
After Nikki dons the dress Victor arranged and gets her hair all glammed up, she’ll move forward with exchanging vows with Victor – hopefully for the last time.
Victor and Nikki will kiss once Michael leads them through the ceremony, so their loved ones will be delighted as they celebrate on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.
Meanwhile, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will barge in Sally’s place and confront her for blabbing to Billy about him paying her for Newman Media.
Now that Billy has exposed that news to Victor, Adam will rant about the non-disclosure agreement meaning nothing.
Sally will partly blame Adam for riling Billy up and point out that what’s done is done.
Adam will eventually calm down and speak sweetly to Sally about her pregnancy before Billy comes blowing in.
Billy will demand to know what Adam is doing in his house and will assume he’s there to whine now that Victor knows the truth.
After Adam and Billy lash out at each other, Sally will finally push them to stop.
Once Adam takes off, Sally will blast him for immediately running his mouth to Victor after she warned him the payment was a secret.
Now that Spectra-Charles could be facing Victor’s vengeful wrath, Sally will expect Billy to put out the fuse he lit.
At the GCAC, Cane will overhear Matt leaving Phyllis a voicemail about his new job at Arabesque, so they’ll end up grilling each other.
Matt will ultimately open up about his monstrous past, including the fact that he nearly killed Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) before getting amnesia due to a blow to the head.
Matt will also acknowledge that when his memories came back, it was like watching a horror movie.
The experience left Matt with this deep need to prove he’s a changed man.
However, Matt will admit he’s learning that sometimes forgiveness isn’t possible.
Cane won’t get why Matt is sticking around town, but Matt will note that Phyllis is hard to say no to.
Cane will warn about the Newmans being a force to be reckoned with and will suggest Phyllis is cunning as well.
It can feel like all the light is shining down on you when Phyllis is on your side, but Cane will warn it’s “hell on earth” when she turns on you.
Matt won’t be afraid considering all the horrible things he’s done in his past.
After Adam interrupts and tries to expose Matt’s lies, Matt will admit Adam’s too late since he’s already told Cane everything.
Adam will make it clear that Matt is a Newman enemy, but Matt will plan on staying in town and will want to be left alone.
By the end of this conversation, Matt will ominously suggest he’d hate it if he were forced to do something they might all regret.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Matt’s sinister side could come back out if he’s pushed too far, so stay tuned.
