Tyler Hynes is going to be featured on a new Hallmark Christmas ornament being released this holiday season and he’s opening up about the making of the trinket. He’s the second Hallmark actor to be featured on an ornament, following Lacey Chabert.
The beloved Hallmark Channel actor was one of 22 stars who celebrated the network’s 25th birthday at a special panel at the 92NY on Tuesday (August 4) in New York City.
People‘s Breanne Heldman, who moderated the panel, asked Tyler what went into the process of creating the ornament.
“I never had to look at myself so much. It was a disturbing experience,” he joked.
Tyler continued, “It was lovely. I had to spoken to Darren [Abbott], who is the head of this network and he had come up on the [other] side of the business, and I had gotten to know some of the folks who are the artists behind these ornaments. And it was a really lovely, seamless process of figuring out how their process works and how I can be of service and find something that might be interesting and maybe useful. Then we began dissecting my face, which was a horror movie.”
Tyler was then roasted a bit by his Three Wise Men co-stars Kimberley Sustad and Andrew Walker, who were also on the panel.

Kimberley asked, “How many notes did you give them to get your hair right?”
Tyler replied, “I have three versions of the ornament on my phone. If you guys were to see these… one, I looked like Andrew Walker’s jaw. Way more chiseled than I could ever achieve. And the other swung the other direction. It’s a process. It’s a really, really hard thing to do, and I don’t know if they’ve done something quite like that.”
Breanne then reminded Tyler, “They did Lacey last year!”
Tyler pointed out that the difference between the two ornaments is Lacey‘s was a full-body one while his is just of his face.
Andrew jokingly added, “Did Lacey box and kiss each individual one before it’s sent off? This guy’s working behind the scenes here! He’s at the manufacturing warehouse kissing and boxing and sending and packing… so just be sure to buy that Tyler Hynes Christmas ornament, everybody.” This likely isn’t true, so don’t expect a personally kissed ornament!
You can order the ornament on Hallmark.com beginning on October 10.
The trailer for Tyler‘s upcoming Christmas movie was released just a couple weeks ago.
