General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, August 3, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was forced to accept Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) mob exit choice while Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) faced a shocker.
At Sonny’s house, Jason recapped how things went down the day he got taken into WSB custody.
It was a wake-up call about what Jason’s choices were doing to Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).
Jason didn’t want Danny following down his same path, so Sonny ultimately understood his mob departure decision.
Sonny made it clear that Jason had his blessing to leave as they shared an emotional moment.
While out for a run, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) got winded and had a flashback of getting shot on Spoon Island.
Afterward, Josslyn interrupted a lovey-dovey moment between Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) in his office.
That led to Nina finding out Josslyn was part of the WSB before heading out.
Josslyn tried to warn Brennan away from Nina by running down a list of her past offenses, but Brennan shut her down.
At the Metro Court Gardens, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) appeared in vision form and told Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) that it looked like Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was too tied up with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to come rescue her.
Anna bumped into a waiter and caused a bit of a stir, so Valentin and Carly invited her to join them at their table.
Once Anna learned Valentin struck a WSB deal to get his assets unfrozen, she scolded him and worried he was once again putting his freedom at risk.
Anna feared Valentin could get drawn back into the WSB, but Carly remained convinced that he was truly out and hoped Josslyn would eventually get out, too.
Anna initially acted like it was too late for that, but she ultimately switched to a more optimistic attitude for Carly’s sake.
Valentin could tell something was off with Anna once she took off and knew her Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) tormenting ordeal would be tough to move past.
Once Nina popped up later, Valentin offered his gratitude since he got his money back because of Brennan’s desire to help her.
However, Valentin also provided a warning about Brennan only wanting to spend time with Nina because she was his ex-wife.
Nina wasn’t pleased over Valentin’s negative comments about Brennan and felt that Valentin just gave her a reminder of why they were no longer together.
Carly watched the whole scene unfold and approved of Valentin getting under Nina’s skin.
At Anna’s place, Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) and Gio tried to distract Trina from concerns about Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) trial with a board game.
After Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) called to see where Trina and Gio were, they realized they’d forgotten about their meeting with Simon (Grady Eldridge) the music exec.
Kai tagged along with Gio and Trina to the Surf Lodge, where he extended his hand to Simon.
After Simon realized Kai was Trina’s boyfriend, he insisted they had a problem and pulled Brook Lynn aside to explain.
Simon argued that assumptions had been made about Gio and Trina being a couple, so they’d already built a marketing campaign around them being romantically involved.
Although Simon had a flight to catch, he pushed Brook Lynn to get Trina and Gio on board.
Brook Lynn eventually told Gio, Trina and Kai what was going on, so none of them liked the idea of a phony relationship.
Trina and Gio were eager to wiggle out of their contracts, but Brook Lynn acted like she could fix this for them despite looking uneasy.
Next on Monday’s GH episode, Trina’s mystery stalker looked at more pictures of her, including one with Kai.
The stalker removed Kai from the photo on a laptop and left Trina standing there in the pic alone.
After Anna and Emma’s bonding session, “Peter” once again appeared and pushed Anna to keep her granddaughter safe since Valentin wasn’t going to help.
“Peter” was adamant about Anna stepping up to end Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
In the park, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) confided in Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) about getting rid of the evidence against Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and got her support since he was protecting his son.
Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) popped up multiple times to witness Liz and Bonding connecting, so he wasn’t happy about it.
General Hospital spoilers say Ric’s jealousy could become a big problem if he’s not careful, so stay tuned for any bad news that’s brewing.
