According to People, his contribution allowed her to move forward with her graduate school plans without the burden of the outstanding balance.
Duberry shared the life-changing news on social media, revealing that Perry believed in her vision as a future educator and writer. Thanking him publicly, she said his support gave her “greater stability and peace of mind” as she prepares to begin classes at Harvard. She also described Perry as “a true light in the Black community,” adding that his investment in her future made it possible for her to pursue the next chapter of her academic journey.
