It really doesn’t feel like it has been almost eight years since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, but it somehow has, and there’s no sign that another game in the series is coming any time soon. At this point, most players have explored everything the single-player has to offer, but fortunately, there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Red Dead Online.
Rockstar might be totally focused on getting GTA VI out for November, so they don’t have to delay it again, but they have remained quite diligent about giving us new stuff to do as cowboys in the meantime. Now, the latest of those events is now live, and there are some freebies you can pick up, as well as additional rewards just for playing the game.
Over on the official Rockstar website, the developer broke down everything players can get as part of the ongoing Bounty Hunter event. There’s a lot going on, but we’re currently in the final week of the event, and until August 3, completing two Bounties will see players receive a reward for a free weapon.
Meanwhile, you can also earn 3X RDO$, XP, and Role XP for completing any Regular Bounties, and 3X RDO$, XP, and Gold for any Legendary and Infamous Bounties you manage to get done. At the same time, finishing any bounty rewards the Asking for Trouble Emote, and completing a Legendary Bounty grants the War Cry Emote.
There are also discounts available, with five Gold Bars off all Bounty Hunter Licenses, while you can also receive a 50% discount on Bounty Hunter essentials, allowing you to look the part with Bounty Hunter Outfits, as well as being able to arm yourself with Bolas, Throwing Knives, and Repeaters (including Style Customizations).
There’s even more freebies available, with a Bounty Hunter Wagon available totally free of charge, with a 50% discount on tints to boot. Bounty Hunter Free Roam Events are also paying out 3X RDO$ and XP, and if you move quickly, participating in Day of Reckoning or Manhunt will reward the white Rushword Shirt.
There is a very unfortunate world where another Red Dead Redemption game never sees the light of day. Dan Houser has already said he sees it as a two-part story (though he is no longer at Rockstar), but the developer’s own opinions aren’t publicly known. Given how successful it was, it would be difficult to see it abandoned entirely, but it’s certainly going to be years before it even comes up.
