NYSE Parent ICE to Purchase MarketAxess for About $6 Billion


Intercontinental Exchange Inc., the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, agreed to buy MarketAxess Holdings Inc. for about $6 billion in cash, adding one of the world’s biggest fixed-income exchanges to ICE’s collection of trading platforms.

Under the terms of the agreement, ICE will acquire all the outstanding shares of the bond trading platform for $167 each, 33% higher than the closing price on Wednesday, according to a statementBloomberg Terminal Thursday.
