Elon Musk sparred with Spanish Chef José Andrés of the World Central Kitchen on Monday over a recent interview that had Musk looking less than stellar.
It started when Musk responded to a post by Rael Braverman, husband of former U.K. Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who’s a member of the right-wing party, Reform UK.
Braverman wrote, “This woman, Editor-In-Chief at the Economist, is excruciatingly painful to listen to. It’s people like her that are allowing the West to be destroyed. Luxury belief brigade in all its glory.” Braverman included a CNBC Squawk Box clip of journalist Zanny Minton Beddoes talking about last week’s sit-down interview with Musk.
Specifically, where Beddoes told Musk, “You support not just the populist right, but the far right — in fact, very fringe parties in some countries,” prompting Musk to answer, “No, I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely.”
Musk responded to Braverman’s post, “She is a traitor to the West, plain and simple.”
That’s where the chef got involved.
José Andrés wrote, “Elon drink a glass of water before you tweet…you may build rockets and satellites and cars and anything else you want…and we thank you! but you can not call a great journalist that actually ask you good questions and [sic] enemy to humanity! You sound and act like a tyrant….change!”
Musk replied to the chef, “You’re an asshole.”
Social media exploded with posts defending Chef Andrés, with some calling him a hero for feeding the disenfranchised all around the world.
Musk was butthurt over the Beddoes interview where his message was definitively anti-Muslim, and he claimed Europe was rife for a “reckoning” over immigration.

“London is a much safer city than any city in the United States,” Beddoes said. “You have painted — and because you have so many followers, so many Americans believe it — a kind of view that Europe and the UK are kind of, you know, ‘overrun with terrifying Muslim immigrants, there’s rape on every corner, there’s a sort of civilizational destruction.’”
“I haven’t said any of those things,” Musk shot back. “If you have a large and growing, rapidly growing, group of people whose beliefs are antithetical to Western beliefs, at some point there will be a reckoning. They will try to implement their views, and those who oppose it will oppose it. And that’s what you call civil war. And obviously, this is the trend.”
