The chances of a Ghosts universe on CBS are directly addressed.
Even though Sam (Rose McIver), Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), and the rest of Woodstone Manor won’t be back with regular episodes of Ghosts season 6 until next spring, there will be a new CBS supernatural comedy that will explore similar themes and will include more than a few familiar faces.
It was announced at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend that Eternally Yours will premiere on CBS on Thursday, October 8 at 8:30 PM. The upcoming sitcom hails from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the showrunners and executive producers of Ghosts, though it swaps squabbling spirits for an unhappy vampire couple.
In an interview with ScreenRant‘s Ash Crossan at San Diego Comic-Con, the leads of Eternally Yours were asked about the chances of crossing over with Ghosts. Ed Weeks, who plays Charles, and Allegra Edwards, who portrays Liz, revealed that those conversations have come up. But in the quote below, they detail how a shared crossover would be tricky because of shared actors:
Ash Crossan: Same creators as Ghosts, right? So, are they in the same universe or no?
Ed Weeks: We’ve spoken about this. We would love a crossover. I don’t know how much in the same universe they necessarily are. I mean, you played characters on both.
Allegra Edwards: Yes, I was on season three and four of Ghosts, sweet little guest star that I loved, and then Rose has also been on Ghost as well, or Phyllis. And so it would be interesting to work out how that multiverse happens. We want to do it.
When it came to populating the cast of Eternally Yours, which also includes Parker Young, Helen J. Shen, Jaren Lewison, Rose Abdoo, Tristan Michael Brown, and Shylo Molina, Port and Wiseman partly selected from actors they’ve worked with on Ghosts. Edwards plays the recurring role of the spirit Donna, appearing in three episodes and receiving occasional mentions.
Abdoo, a veteran performer known for her roles on Gilmore Girls and Hacks, has recently recurred on Ghosts as Paula, Sam’s producer friend. That doesn’t make a crossover impossible. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, is showing how a comedy franchise can tackle the multiverse concept that’s usually reserved for movies.
For now, though, it does sound like Eternally Yours and Ghosts will focus on their own separate stories. In the case of the former, it means introducing viewers to Charles and Liz. They’ve been married for 500 years and are in a rut, noticing that the spark has left their marriage. But their life in Seattle is threatened when their daughter brings her human boyfriend home.
As for Ghosts, it will return for two special supersized episodes that are timed for Halloween and Christmas. Those episodes will introduce viewers to a new kind of spirit. So even though a crossover isn’t in the cards right now, both sitcoms have a lot to look forward to.
