He was 44.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt was Taylor\u2019s restaurant, The Good Front Room, that confirmed the \u201csudden passing\u201d of the founder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cDom was a visionary whose bold, joyful approach to celebrating the Caribbean cuisine of his childhood brought a fresh and exciting voice to London\u2019s restaurant scene,\u201d read the statement on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegoodfrontroom.co.uk\/chefdomtaylor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">website<\/a>. \u201cHis passion, talent and generosity touched so many people, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him and experiencing his food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe statement continued, \u201cHe will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone whose lives he touched during this incredibly difficult time. We kindly ask that everyone respects the privacy of Dom\u2019s loved ones at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe restaurant noted that they would remain open to \u201chonor Dom\u2019s legacy and continue the work he was so passionate about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tChef Taylor won the sole season of Netflix\u2019s 2023 culinary competition <em>Five Star Chef<\/em> with his family by his side, celebrating the moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRavneet Gill, who was a judge on the competition series, said of Chef Taylor\u2019s death, \u201cHe was instantly captivating from the moment he stepped in front of us. He had a real sparkle in his eyes. He was warm, kind and incredibly talented. Dom cooked from the heart, and you could taste it. He was on the brink of so many exciting things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFellow judge Mike Reid also paid tribute to Chef Taylor after news of his death saying, \u201cDom Taylor was one of the good ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWhat he built with The Good Front Room wasn\u2019t just a restaurant. It was his heritage on a plate,\u201d Reid added. \u201cHe took Caribbean cuisine somewhere it had never been in this country, and he did it his way.
