{"id":9628,"date":"2026-07-18T14:17:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T09:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=9628"},"modified":"2026-07-18T14:17:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T09:17:06","slug":"prince-harry-meghan-markle-eyeing-megxit-reversal-with-return-to-uk-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=9628","title":{"rendered":"Prince Harry, Meghan Markle eyeing &#8216;Megxit&#8217; reversal with return to UK: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F07%2F134726295.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly seeking to \u201creverse Megxit\u201d after their <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/07\/09\/royal-family\/meghan-markle-and-kids-will-join-prince-harry-in-uk-after-all\/\">brief family trip to the UK <\/a>earlier this month. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Sussexes are seeking to reverse Megxit,\u201d the Daily Mail\u2019s Alison Boshoff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/news\/royals\/article-15985633\/Harry-estranged-love-plan-reverse-Megxit-ALISON-BOSHOFF-messages-William.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote Friday<\/a>, adding that \u201cit seems that a return to the UK is being contemplated in some form and that the couple\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/16\/royal-family\/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-reportedly-buy-european-vacation-home-after-being-kicked-out-of-frogmore-cottage\/\">holiday home in Portugal <\/a>will be used as a staging post back to Britain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A friend of Prince Harry \u2014 who famously <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/01\/08\/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-quit-the-royal-family\/\">left the UK with Markle<\/a> back in 2020 for a life in Southern California \u2014 reportedly told the outlet \u201cthere is definitely a feeling in his camp that he has started to feel a bit unwelcome in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added, \u201cThat has been an increasing and significant shift in sentiment, a feeling that the American dream might not be all that it was cracked up to be.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The source also claimed they were \u201ctold that this is coming from Meghan as well as from him,\u201d explaining, \u201cI hear that Meghan is all for rekindling with and reconnecting with Harry\u2019s English side. She is fully behind it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, pictured above in 2022, are reportedly planning a \u201creverse Megxit.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Samir Hussein\/WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>A friend of Prince Harry, seen above with King Charles in 2019, said there\u2019s \u201ca feeling in his camp that he has started to feel a bit unwelcome in America.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Samir Hussein\/WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cEngland is where Harry\u2019s heart has always lain,\u201d the source said. \u201cIt is no secret that they went to the States to try and seek their fortune, to try to capitalize on his fame and his royalty to some degree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They also noted that the couple has had \u201csuccesses\u201d and their \u201c$100 million <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/09\/02\/meghan-markle-prince-harry-sign-multi-year-deal-with-netflix\/\">Netflix deal <\/a>is not nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, the insider noted that their \u201cAmerican dream is cooling\u201d and Meghan \u201cfeels an outcast status as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe feels like she is trying to push fresh thoughts and projects but it is not easy,\u201d they said. \u201cSo maybe enough water has now passed under the bridge here for some form of a return.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boshoff noted that it would not be \u201ca permanent or imminent return\u201d for Harry, Meghan, and their children \u2014 Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Instead, their Portuguese property to be considered a \u201cstepping stone\u201d to a transition.<\/p>\n<p>A source told the outlet the couple \u201chad a house built in Portugal for the kids to be close to their royal side in case they want to participate. It\u2019s in a private part, I\u2019m not sure it\u2019s finished yet. It\u2019s striking distance for them to get to London.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added, \u201cHarry has no desire to be Eurotrash, he is very proudly British and English and wants to be in England but Portugal could be a kind of a stepping stone for a couple of years.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>A source claimed to the outlet that despite <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/11\/16\/royal-family\/step-inside-meghan-markle-and-prince-harrys-14m-montecito-mansion\/\">moving to Montecito <\/a>with Markle and launching a streaming career, they didn\u2019t \u201cthink [Prince Harry has] ever wanted to be estranged from his family.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think when he was madly in love with Meghan he could be blind enough to choose her. Now things are different, and the veil is lifting,\u201d they added. <\/p>\n<p>The outlet further claimed Prince Harry \u201cstill sees himself as a \u2018working royal,&#8217;\u201d despite giving up the distinction in the controversial 2020 move. <\/p>\n<p>Harry, Markle and their children <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/07\/10\/royal-family\/prince-harry-meghan-markles-kids-reunite-with-grandpa-king-charles-for-first-time-in-4-years\/\">met King Charles and Queen Camilla<\/a> for tea at Highgrove last Friday amid Harry\u2019s trip to the UK to promote next year\u2019s Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham.
