At one point, Gere even wrapped his arm around Silvers\u2019 waist, pulling her in close as she draped her arm across his shoulders.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image by immigration officers a holding room at London\u2019s Heathrow Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The film, however, appears to focus solely on Alice and Ezra\u2019s fictional love story, as its logline notes that it \u201ctells the story of a young editorial assistant in New York, Alice (Silvers), who comes upon world-renowned 70-year-old author Ezra (Gere) in Central Park one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The synopsis continues: \u201cTheir one moment of eye contact sparks a connection that leads them both down a life-changing rabbit hole, where they create a private world just for two.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Oscar winner Edward Zwick penned the screenplay along with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz.  <span class=\"credit\">GC Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Zwick is also attached to direct and produce. screenplay with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz on the screenplay, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/richard-gere-diana-silvers-edward-zwick-asymmetry-film-1236877492\/\">reports Deadline<\/a>.
