Powers<\/strong>, who represents Salgado Araujo\u2019s brother, CNN\u2019s Chief National Correspondent <strong>John King<\/strong> said that the substance was allegedly \u201c<span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"148880000\" data-end=\"167900000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">a homemade <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"167900000\" data-end=\"183240000\"><span class=\"ccHovered\">electrolyte mix.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Salgado Araujo and his brother worked at a construction site, Powers explained. After she was asked when the results of a toxicology test on the substance would be complete, Powers said she hadn\u2019t been given exact information. The shooting of Araujo, a Mexican man whose family said he was working on his legal status, occurred the same week as a fatal ICE shooting in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/just-in-one-dead-after-shooting-involving-ice-in-maine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"281680000\" data-end=\"291020000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">I only know what the DEA\u00a0 had <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"292350000\" data-end=\"301700000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">said, that it should only take a couple<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"303030000\" data-end=\"318050000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> of days,\u201d she answered. \u201cWe\u2019re hoping <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"318050000\" data-end=\"360750000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">either later today or Monday. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"362090000\" data-end=\"388120000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">But yes, it definitely was unique<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"389120000\" data-end=\"398460000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> that the warrant was unsealed, and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"399790000\" data-end=\"433490000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">I was concerned<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"434830000\" data-end=\"459850000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> about prejudicing <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"461190000\" data-end=\"479210000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">public opinion during this time.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After King pointed out the warrant was initially sealed, Powers said she hasn\u2019t been told why it was then unsealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cE<span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"638370000\" data-end=\"648380000\"><span class=\"ccHovered\">xperts have said that<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"648380000\" data-end=\"658390000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> it\u2019s very unusual, of the way<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"658390000\" data-end=\"693750000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> that it was sealed and then unsealed, a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"695090000\" data-end=\"713440000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">nd I think ultimately, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"714770000\" data-end=\"728460000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">that\u2019s why we came out with the statement<\/span><\/span><span ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"768500000\" data-end=\"781840000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> of Lorenzo, and the family<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"783180000\" data-end=\"798530000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> was otherwise detained\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"799530000\" data-end=\"813210000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">with the familiy and the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"814540000\" data-end=\"823880000\"><span class=\"ccContent\"> public\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"825220000\" data-end=\"839230000\"><span class=\"ccContent\">viewing, was because of the impact<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ccSpan ccEditWordBreak d-inline-block ml-1\" data-start=\"840570000\" data-end=\"858920000\"><span name.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was as simple as crystallized salt to put in an electrolyte drink,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p><em>The New York Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/federal-agents-fatally-shot-man-after-mistakenly-believing-he-was-transporting-suspect-report\/\">previously reported<\/a> that the federal agents who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/cnn-airs-disturbing-video-of-houston-man-after-hes-fatally-shot-by-ice-i-want-to-warn-our-viewers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shot<\/a> and killed Salgado Araujo were pursuing someone else.
