The total for 2025: $2.2 billion, almost four times as much as the $622 million in revenue he reported in 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _10sa9omi itxwjq1 itxwjq0 pn04iq1\">That total includes more than $1.4 billion from two Trump family cryptocurrency projects \u2014 one of which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/podcasts\/493284\/trump-witkoff-crypto-bank-world-liberty-financial-uae\">World Liberty Financial<\/a>, which is 49 percent owned by the royal family of the United Arab Emirates. (That stake was purchased secretly just days before Trump\u2019s 2025 inauguration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/policy\/spy-sheikh-secret-stake-trump-crypto-tahnoon-ea4d97e8?eafs_enabled=false\">as the Wall Street Journal has reported<\/a>, and shortly afterward, the Trump administration granted the UAE access to advanced AI chips.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _10sa9omi itxwjq1 itxwjq0 pn04iq1\"><strong>What\u2019s the context?<\/strong> As astonishing as that number is, it doesn\u2019t quite capture the full scope of Trump\u2019s graft. Since last year, the New Yorker\u2019s David D. Kirkpatrick has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/magazine\/2025\/08\/18\/the-number\">keeping close track of all the president\u2019s self-enrichment schemes<\/a> \u2014 plus those by his immediate family, from his sons Don Jr. and Eric Trump to his son-in-law (and Middle East peace negotiator) Jared Kushner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _10sa9omi itxwjq1 itxwjq0 pn04iq1\"><strong>What else should I know?<\/strong> In addition to enriching himself and his family directly, Trump has spent much of his second term as president using the government, and US tax dollars, as a piggy bank for his personal projects.
