What are you doing? Why do you keep saying \u2018Thank you\u2019?\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cAnd I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s just what\u2019s coming out of my mouth.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rogen said the reaction reflected how he would feel in real life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I have is gratitude,\u201d he said. \u201cI would be apologetic and thankful. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Pen\u00e9lope Cruz as P\u00edna in \u201cThe Invite.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">A24 via AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The actor, who has been married to Lauren Miller since 2011, joked that he was nervous about filming the scene because <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/03\/sports\/penelope-cruz-javier-bardem-watch-spain-crush-austria-at-world-cup\/\">Cruz is married to fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, you\u2019re very worried about that,\u201d Rogen said, before adding with a laugh, \u201cI don\u2019t think he views me as a legitimate threat in any way, shape or form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rogen also revealed that several moments in the film were improvised. Everyone\u2019s like, \u2018That was great.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Pen\u00e9lope Cruz and Edward Norton in \u201cThe Invite.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">A24 via AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAnd then I hurt my shoulder for seven months,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Invite\u201d stars Wilde as Angela and Rogen as her husband Joe, whose marriage is shaken when they\u2019re propositioned by wealthy couple P\u00edna, played by Cruz, and Hawk, played by Edward Norton.<\/p>\n<p>Wilde recently shared another improvised moment from filming \u201cThe Invite,\u201d telling the \u201cTable Manners\u201d podcast that <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/07\/15\/entertainment\/shocked-olivia-wildes-two-word-response-to-penelope-cruz-improvising-invite-kiss\/\">Cruz unexpectedly kissed her during a scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was so shocked,\u201d Wilde said. \u201cI turned my head and looked directly into the lens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilde recalled a camera operator saying her name, prompting her to blurt out, \u201cCut. Namaste!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the only thing that came to my mind. \u2018Namaste,&#8217;\u201d she said. \u201cAnd everyone was like, \u2018What?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mind went blank because I was so struck by this moment,\u201d Wilde added. \u201cI lost control.
