getting rewarded for a career season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zegras inked a four-year deal to stay in Philadelphia, the team announced Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old center, who spent the first five years of his career with the Ducks before getting traded to the Philadelphia last offseason, will earn $36.5 million ($9.125 million average annual value) to become the Flyers\u2019 highest-paid player.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The center was a restricted free agent who had filed for arbitration, which can now be avoided.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><button wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Zegras, the ninth pick in the 2019 draft, scored 67 goals and tallied 119 assists in five years with the Ducks before joining the Flyers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his first season with Philly, he scored a career-high 26 goals while adding 41 assists, which was one shy of his career best set in 2022-23.<\/p>\n<p>In eight playoff games, Zegras notched two goals with four assists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to locking up their core after an overachieving season, Briere has focused on retaining veterans, as he\u2019s signed goalie Dan
